    i think this has a really nice screen, instead of a high res screen. im sure the need for higher res isnt so worthwhile, when most of the people buying these will need eye surgery if they try to use it at such a high res

    Oh teh noes xD It has 168 (?) pixel less! That surely renders it unuseable...

    @ajaidev: Good luck with that application (if you weren't joking)!

    The screen resolution is fine.
    Lots of connectivity options, awesome!
    But does it really need a camera?
    Can't say it will be an iPad killer (no, I'm not saying that iPad is good or that it is better than this device) since it doesn't offer anything really extraordinary, but it is a very good all-around device.
    Is the battery life any good?

    Pixel QI is a game changer in this department imo.
    Also they say it will be for sale for as low as $369

    Fair idea, but it's not going to challenge the iPad.

    1024x600 =614400
    1440x900 =1296000

    over double the amount of pixels.

    I should've written 168 Pixel less vertical resolution

    The iPad has a resolution of 1024 x 768 (786,432 Pixel in total) whereas the ADAM has 614,400 Pixel in total. A difference of 172,032 Pixel or roughly 22 percent.

    My comment only referred to it being a fail because it had a lower resolution than the iPad...

    Glad there are more tablets coming out. If 2009 was the year of the netbook 2010 is the year of the tablet.

    I don't want a tablet that has the functionality of a phone, I want a tablet that has the functionality of a PC. Get another distro on there and I might consider it.

    Functionality wise this is a very good design, looks I'm not too sure about. But if it does the trick, why bother much really? The swivel camera makes it more multifunctional compared to fixed front faced or back faced cameras while, admitted, it is less stylish. The Pixel Qi screen (indeed, the game changer) combined with a powerful chipset and an open source platform makes this a very interesting deal for a tablet device.

    I've read a rumoured price of ~$400 and April/May release but I'm not sure, if that's true it will give many competitors a real run for the money.

    That fact that google purposefully crippled Android(imo) makes it a very bad platform and i hope it fails to gain traction. Aside from that you could probably try to load up any linux distro with ARM support on it. It should work if they dont use any proprietary drivers that aren't publicly available
    Seems we made our greatest error when we named it at the start
    for though we called it "Human Nature" - it was cancer of the heart

    Thats what I am looking for. For some reason launching a program from removable storage is a "security" concern. With google not supporting the andriod code changes in the linux kernel, drivers written for andriod become useless to every other linux distro.

    The less support Andriod gets, the better chance that someone else would come along with a mobile linux build that is not retarded.

    I don't know anything about the future except this one fact: this concept of a tablet will not last.

    With one of the biggest selling points of Tegra2 being HD, the least they could have done is made the display 720p minimum. Other than that it's pretty solid, if not a looker.
