    Old sound card advice needed.

I'm putting together an old retro rig, mostly for the fun of it, for old games and stuff.
Anyway, I've managed to get a new/unused Slot A motherboard complete with a new Athlon 600Mhz for very little money. I have all the other bits I need except a sound card, as the board hasn't got onboard audio.

Now I havn't bought a sound card in a long time, so what do I need to ensure compatability with older DOS and Win95 era games?
Do I just look for sound blaster compatible? Or is there more to it than that?

Would something like this work? LINK

    Appreciate any advice.

Any sound card is going to work fine. I have a SB AWE64 in my old game PC for that reason.

    Thanks Raptor.
I didn't get the one I linked because I just noticed it's an ISA card, but I just bought a new boxed PCI Yamaha card for the grand sum of £3 with postage :-)

It's listed as sound blaster and direct sound compatible, so I assume it'll be ok for what I need.

    Thanks for the info
