Update 01/02/10: It was an open secret, but now the date for the upcoming AvP demo has finally been unveiled. Xbox Live Spotlight channel featured an advertisement claiming the date for the AvP demo. It seems like the ad is no longer available online but we can confirm that it’s true. The demo will be released this week, Thursday Feb 4th as featured on the channel. We can also reveal that the demo will feature the multiplayer part of the game and will be available on PSN and Steam on the same date.

Downloading from Steam. My 4890 is being RMA'd so I'm rolling on a 7950GT, I hope it's enough to get smooth framerates so I can judge the gameplay. Awesome that they're releasing demos though, unlike MW2.

I just finished downloading and installing on my secondary rig with a 7800GTX and 6400+ so performance would be similar. I can't seem to connect to a game I'm waiting on the quick match to find me a match but still no dice. Getting 60 FPS in the menus but that's all I can tell so far lol

Finally just got into a game but its taking forever to load. I think the invite option is buggy.

Really? Through the quick match? I'm still just waiting....been alt+tabbed out for a while so I can do other things than just wait. It looks like its searching for servers ONLY with 8 players, yet you can't change that or the game type. I looked for a config file to easily change settings but of course no luck.

Just a heads up, no dx11, demo is dx9 only..

That was a big disappointment, the best part of playing that demo was the anticipation during the download.

I can only hope the single player campaigns will rescue this game from what for me is banality. If the server connection/selection options remain limited and without dedicated servers or the option of creating one, the multi-player experience is going to be as bad as that in GTA IV and COD MW2.


2/10 for the demo, I hope the retail release isn't as appalling.

COD MW2 isnt horrible to me online... it has a lot left to desire but its not horrible.
