Campus Party Brazil 2010 - OC Event

Many thanks to Renaldo (rbuass) and the sponsors for making the trip possible and showing us around the city and beaches.

Chew and I were brought in to overclock AMD and Intel systems live for Campus Party, Chew armed with a decent Deneb and I had a Clarkdale i5 670 to choose from. Gigabyte sponsored a portion and we both used the newest P55A and 790FXTA boards. Everything went better than expected, Chew went up first and carried most of the weight with a rock solid system to round off a bunch of benches to wow the crowd, Renaldo went up second while I brought my untested P55A up to speed, we had a DOA board that gave me a small set back but was easy to overcome with a spare board on hand. Both Renaldo and I reached 6.3Ghz live and ran our benches in unison showing speeds and scores, increasing speed after each bench till we topped out. It was a really good showing, impressive numbers were hit without any hard crashes. I was able to work around a -77c cold boot bug for the event.

Here a bunch of pics from Sao Palo and Santos, enjoy.

    Unleashing the BEast in Brazil

So I finally got time to actually sit down, tune some OS's and get friendly with my new Gigabyte 790FXTA-UD5.

For the most part I have been shooting from the hip prior with this board with safe settings........but not this time around as I had plenty of free time to unlock some of it's secrets.

Special thanks to Ronaldo and Fabi for being great Host's and to Charles for being a cheerleader / instigator.....( come on that all that chips got )

    System specs
    Gigabyte GA-790FXTA-UD5P
    AMD Phenom II 965 BEast
    Corsair 1866 c7 suicidal editions
    Radeon HD 5870
PSU? somewhere along the lines I swapped with the guys but it was corsair HX 1000 and thermaltake 1200
    ln2cooling.com custom ln2 pot

Lets start with my worst result, preety sure NB is holding me back.

I actually had a faster pifast run on video but doesn't count if you can't get a screenshot so no use crying over spilt milk.

    Was pretty satisfied with this.

Card definitely needs more clocks but pretesting on ln2 yielded little gains with this card so I stuck with air.

There was also a live event called campus party from which I am sure Ronaldo ( rbauss ) will post pics and results from very shortly.

All in all I had a great time and looking forward to future joint international Ocing events.

Awsome pics and was a great time.

Very nice to hang out with you charles under less stressfull conditions and time constraints that I had at CES.

Ronaldo was a great host and bencher.

    Great times.
