RAM timings doesn't follow BIOS settings

I just got a new rig setup, see sig for specs.
Thing is, I'm setting my memory as 7-7-7-21 in the BIOS, but when I get to Windows both CPU-Z and EVEREST report the timings as 9-7-7-21 instead.
BCLK is 160 if it matters.

Any idea why this could be happening? Is it just an error in reading my timings due to the motherboard being very new? Or is there some sort of built-in auto adjuster in the BIOS?

This happens whether I set the timings manually, or use the built-in XMP profile.

Might be a BIOS bug... Or perhaps your CPU-Z and Everest are out of date?

What zalbard said, or an unstable OC/timing that makes the BIOS "OC recover" and use "safer" values.

    CPU-Z is 1.53 and EVEREST is 5.30.
The RAM shouldn't have any issues, it's rated for 7-7-7-21 @ 1600. I did think it might be the BIOS having an "auto recover" sorta thing too, could it be because of the 160 BCLK? I lowered my multi to 19 from 22, so the CPU is just slightly over stock, but I didn't change any voltages, I just assumed the 160 BCLK is fine at stock voltages. SuperPI 16M and 1 hour+ of Prime95 blend were the only quick tests I did.

Any other ideas guys? I know the performance difference probably isn't much, but it does bug me as to why it's not following my explicit BIOS settings.

Using the latest BIOS version as well, right?

Yeap using the latest BIOS available from Asus.
I've been setting the timings to a more relaxed 8-8-8-24 these days and CPU-Z still shows 9-8-8-24 instead.

I think it is a problem with CPU-Z and Everest read outs, I have the same problem with my GB H55M-UD2H, and there is a thread discussing this with a GB P55 board.

Forgot about this for awhile, but thanks for the link! I guess I'll just have to rely on BIOS settings for now.

I have the Asus p7p55d with the i3-540. used 2x 1gb kinston ddr3-1333 9-9-9-24 timings. bios was set manually. Everest and cpu-z showed me 10-9-9-24. got rid of the i3 after 2 days and got the i5-750. timings are now spot on. Maybe the issue is with the memory controller and i3 processors. also my latency went from 86ns to 56.1ns since i switch to the i5.
