Corsair HX1000W USA has a burned 24-pin

Hello,

I was using this HX1000 PSU with my current specs in my sig. I notice one day the power supply came on and started to go off again back in forth deal then it basically started to power again. After that my Asus Rampage Gene II Micro x58 would not load windows, everything including PSU came on with a blank black screen. So I started to tear it down and when I got to the 24-pin connector I notice a burned in pin on the 4-pin attachment part to the 20-pin was melted. I also notice it was melted into the motherboard 24-pin. Do I need to setup a RMA or do I need to call tech support first? I tried looking for the number on website could not find it.

+12v feed on the PSU, commonly experienced from high-end GPUs pulling too much current from that connector. Haven't heard of any burnt connectors on Asus boards though, very interesting.

Thank you YELLOWBEARD I did awaiting the reply back from your RMA peps... I was OCing my 2 x 4890 from 900MHz to 1000MHz with both cards on stock voltages no mods or anything just using a eK block on both of them temps never got over 46c on both cards. And I am using a surge protector as well I plug my computer stuff into.. Mmmm Well I RMAed the board as well.. Took forever to tear apart my water cooling tech station to do this.. Never had a problem with Corsair or Asus..

UPDATE:

I received my RMA back today from Corsair and after opeing the box I found that Corsair gave me a NEW Corsair HX1000 PSU in the box plastic raped with all accessories "NEW" I only sent in the PSU by itself and got back this wow... Thank You Corsair I was not expecting a new PSU... I have on question to Yellowbeard I was thinking of buying a UPC for my system I was wondering do I need to buy a 1000w backup to match my PSU wattage? I am aiming to get cleaner wattage going to my system not so much for a battery backup..

To be honest, I don't know the first thinga about them. You'd probably need to check with the manufacturers you may want to buy from and make sure their unit can handle the PSU/system power specifications.
