    crucial ic inquiry

    ok I have 2X2GB ddr3 reds 1600mhz 8-8-8-28-2t 1.65v does anyone know the ic's these are running? i cant seem to push them further then 1780mhz even with more volts and looser timings. really frustrating am I doing something wrong here???

    when micron didn't have any low voltage chips , ballistix 1.65v sticks were Samsung HCF0 based
    now that they do - most likely you've got d9kpt or chips from same family

    you sir are correct. d9kpt's didnt see this till after i ripped the spreaders off i like the looks better with them off though personally. i just hope the couple of leds that broke off dont affect the rams performance though
