    252 BCLK on MSI Eclipse SLI + i7 920 D0 :: LN2

    Hey fellas

    it's my first topic here

    Setup:
    • Core i7 920 D0
    • MSI Eclipse SLI (no mods) BIOS 1.8B1
    • Danger Den Maze 4 on MB
    • OCZ Platinum 1600 Low Voltage
    • Thermaltake TP 600W
    • CPU cooled by Team MXS "POT"
    • XP SP3 Lite

and this is our rookie, already the 3rd dewar in the Ukrainian unit (thk mtech) Team MXS (yes, we have problem to find them )

immediately after buying it was filled to the brim, and as we had not much time, in haste, in a few hours it was all assembled and ready

I was very surprised when my Danger Den waterblock, that past 2 years has not been used, just perfectly approached to replace the factory cooling of the motherboard,

Moreover, the BOSTIK had disappeared, so I had to use the remnants

Southbridge also heated decently, so the radiator from the old 965-DS3 went well

    Well, engines on start!

    My lucky MOA thermos

Everything went well, Dewar was enough for two Bench session 8 and 5 hours long, with the CPU we managed to get almost all the results except Wprime owing to simply wild vdroop on MSI Eclipse, vcore from 1.65 to settle at 1,55 V.

But the result achieved in 252 MHz was encouraging, I have never seen higher results on this motherboard

    That's all friends

    Sorry for my bad English

    congrats, really a good work.

with the WB on the NB you gain some MHZ of BCLK?
    thanks

I think definitely helped, because the stock NB cooling poor, it has a very bad thermal interface, and it overheats even in nominal awful. But certainly at the LN2 or stock cooling I even not tested

I think you could go even further with BCLK if you go with low multipliers...

BTW Nice to see 920 in action and nice scores

    Great clocks.

Im not sure what they call it on MSI boards but im pretty sure QPI voltage is VTT on others (e.g. Evga's), but only +300mv is insanely low. It took +500mv on my chip to do 245 Bclk on normal water (x15 CPU multi though). I guess the LN2 really takes down the voltage requirements.

Also, GET BETTER RAM! I have that RAM and im poor

    Good benchs there .

Ver ynice BCLK with WC on NB, i reach 242 bclk con air and dry ice on cpu, but i can't get LN2 here in Chile.

    Regards!.
