    Gigabyte P55-UD3R + i5-660 boot issue

Been running the P55-UD3R with an i5-750 no issues for a month or more at 4.2Ghz, lots of reboots and OCing.

Got a 660 today to mess with under cold water, but whenever I shut down, the only way to get the rig to boot up is if I reset the CMOS.

If I go into the BIOS upon first load and F10 out, it won't boot. Even though I didn't change or save anything.

    Tried these BIOS:
    F3n
    F3m
    F4 (latest)

Once I reset the CMOS and boot into Windows it runs just fine (like it did with the 750)

Any ideas? I see quite a few boot issue posts on the internet regarding Gigabyte P55 boards, some have solutions but are nothing related to what is happening for me.

Here be my 660 at stock (boring!) but can't do anything about that

Any input? Was planning on upgrading to a UD6 or something (got this board for basically free) but this issue and reading about all the other boot issues, is sort of pushing me toward that Open-Box Maximus III Formula (matches my hardware better too )

I'm at work but I'll flash it right when I get home and report back.

    Works great

You are the KING! Following your 1M action closely too (My favorite bench tied with 01)

Flashed the BIOS, booted once at stock, booted 2nd time now at 4.3Ghz looking LinX stable 10 pass already

I Have the same problem... I have a Gigabyte P55-UD5 + Core i5 661 and the OC is very bad.

I got 150 BCLK rock solid with stock QPI/VTT, vcore below defaut (1.165 vs 1.175), but cannot post if the BCLK is above 150 mhz.

I have the latest BIOS on Gigabyte site, F6

    Exists any beta BIOS?

Still testing, but, the "uncore" option is missing.

seem to be Many P55 BIOS in the market not fully support some DRAM ratio for new 32nm processors

    i got some problem with 1:4 , 1:5 with i3-530 + Asus P7P55D

uncore is fused by intel right now, so we didn't open it
also due to MCP(Multi-Chip Package)of clarkdale, which path to CPU
and IGP die is QPI bus. uncore only affects cache.

QPI link now affects the bandwidth overall.

The new bios unlock all values of QPI multiplier and got better OC, thanks!

    Some fast tests on i5 661 @ 167 bclk, 4330 mhz, ram @ 1670 7-8-7-16-1T on everest:

    QPI @ 8.0 (x48)
    read: 11825
    write: 9327
    copy: 11292
    latency 64,2 ns
    QPI @ 4.0 (x24)
    read: 6875
    write: 6141
    copy: 7377
    latency: 81,7 ns

Any of these BIOS recommended for Lynnfield or geared more towards the Clarkedale crew?

Hi, on P55-UD3R with 2*1GB RAM upto 210 FSB working, but with 4*1GB 192 FSB is maxx, even 193FSB can't load BIOS, just restarts with 133 default FSB. But using software OCking upto 200FSB is possible with 4 ram slots. So maybe new bios fixes can be done or some settings in existing bios i missed, hm.

Try use 2T time for high Bclk, due to Clarkdale IMC limitation
    My retail 530 is good 240BCLK and 1920MHz CL9 8GB with $20 air cooling

With 2T and even 3T at 193FSB can't load BIOS. 192 is fully stable, so very interesting. And I have Lynnfield i5-750.

    Guys, especially hicookie

I also have an UD3R with an i5 650 and 2x2GB Geil Value 1600MHz 8-8-8-28. My problem is, whatever I set in the BIOS, the CAS latency remains at 10 according to CPUZ, and 11 according to Everest. If I enable XMP the situation gets worse, 10-8-8-28 and the command rate is 2T (despite the sticker in the modules say 1T).

I am running the latest beta BIOS, F5b. Should I try F4 instead?

    thanks!

Also, the UD3R review states that we still have to press CTRL+F1 at the BIOS Setup main screen to reveal all the overclocking settings, but I cannot see the difference... What do you think?

P55-UD3R. On the Gigabyte site I can only see F4 and F5b. Tried F4, but it did not POST as soon as I changed the BCLK...
