Windchill doesnt effect temperature, only what your perception is based on your skin. You put a thermometer outside in a windstorm at 20F, the thermometer reads 20F even if theres a "10F windchill". Thats perceived temperature.
Hows this look??

6+ years and still running strong!! Not the most Xtreme anymore, but ya gotta do what the budget says ya gotta do!
Ok, so. I was just running my PC and had the temps at 5c on the CPU. Not much if any condensation on the tubing just yet, but then my pump made a loud "sucking air" noise. Crap! Hard powered it off. I was stupid - I forgot that if the CPU temp was 5 then the water had to be much colder. Look over, here I was making ice cubes in the bay reservoir!
Time for some coolant?!
Dude... you need to take pictures of that! Come on!
A pic of the ice in the res?
Hrm ok I will let it freeze again and see what happens haha
Dont let anything bust from the expanding frozen water... that would suck.
I dont let it get to be solid, it just starts to get slushy for the pump. It'll be ok I think. Running it now
Took only like 4 mins to freeze up, CPU temps at 6c and the res crystalized
Wow, cool! It's pretty neat how quickly water can freeze when it gets really cold outside.
Hows this?
and...
Outside temp according to weather.com is 15F "feels like 3F"
Wow. That's pretty neat!
The problem with ice is that it expands. So unless you want some broken watercooling equipement I suggest you move the PC into non freezing areas untill you have replaced the coolant with something with antifreeze in it.
And the problem with antifreeze is that some acrylics don't like ethylene glycol, it's main component.
lol ice in the res
I thought that the heat from the CPU/GPU would be enough to keep it above freezing. Guess not

Plug in an oil heater out there and I guarantee that things will stay warm. You can buy space heaters that plug into a 110 for $50 or <.I ended up putting one in my Garage along with a vent from the Furnice when my wife and I got the furnice replaced last year and between the two with heater on low set to 70*f it's really nice. It's an attached garage but the wals aren't insullated... I put on a new, insullated garage door and weather trim along with a new backyard door to the garage and painted th floor. I keep some of my Mastiffs in there on ratation in the winter... Just gets to cold outside. It hit 10*F last week. And it's still cold out. all the snow is frozen now.. Michigan! Go figure.
Hey, good luck on that either way!
