Frozen Water??

I'm wanting to move my computer into my other room which happens to be a garage, I was curious if the water would freeze over night while I'm not using it. I live in Florida so now is the only time I would even bother worrying about it. So far the lowest we've gotten has been about 18' F.

If you use antifreeze as your additive for color and biocide then I guess it wouldnt'.

If your computer get exposed to temperatures below 32F you will want to use antifreeze - especially when the computer is shut off.
Another thing is danger of condensation if you run your system in such low temperatures..

But on the other hand - I wouldn't like to have my computer in a place as cold as 18F - I would freeze my butts off

chilled cooling, one of the reasons i went with nano fluid.

If the OP is in South Florida, it will never get within 5-7c of 20.

OTOH, garages are prone to all sorts of disasters I'd hate to have my PC in the vicinity of, let alone the dust, sand, bugs, lizards, spiders, etc., etc., etc. we're known for down here...

I was at or below 0f every year from 1980 to 1998 when I moved South, came back for 2 years, regained my sanity, moved back South.

Funnily to me, we are talking about historic lows, severe weather warnings and deadly cold- the coldest it's been in decades. Yeah, we're hitting the low 30s

Relax guys, I'm betting it's a finished garage converted to a bedroom - it merely lacks support from the central heating system as garages typically don't have vents. Simple

We have a lot of AC'd garages 'round here

Get a heater for the garage, about $45, from Wally World or Lowes and heat the garage up to around 20c before messing with your computer. You will be much more comfortable and it won't take but about ten minutes to do.

Or.. save some money... and fire up some prime95 benchmarks for 10 minutes each morning, turning the rad fans on full. It'll warm things up.

I used to do this in my room when it was 10C to heat it up to at least 16 worked wonderfully 2 gtx260's and a corei7 makes a good heater.

There are many mechanical components inside the PC that won't like that -7C temperature. Optical drives, hard drives and water pumps, unless designed for such low temperatures. On the other hand, the electric components will enjoy the cold while dry, but are likely to form condensation.
If the water freezes somewhere in the system, you're in for a sudden pc death. Frozen water dilates and WILL bust the rads open, cracking them. I live in Romania and during the winter we sometimes reach -25C. It's rare, but not unseen. When we have such lows lots of cars die from it as well, from the rad problem outlined above.
I'd say stay away from it... why do you want to move the PC in the garage anyway?

You have clearly not been in many uninsulated garages... step out to mine right now... I'm positive if i had thermometers outside and one in the garage, they would read exactly the same thing: FING COLD! now wind chill is a different story....
But then I live in Kansas not Florida, and it is currently 7F outside...
