Anyone notice the "Six Core CPU Support" labeling next to the socket?

I always thought current AM3 boards will support that?

I think they will, and the fact that ECS states something obvious on an upcoming board won't change that.

It also says "USB 2.0" even though it's been around for years. I wish it had USB 3 tho.

    It's just marketing.

That's cool. I wanna see what ASUS and DFI has to offer up though.I may hold on to my 955 and wait for the 890 platform and the 6 core Phenom. An ASUS 890fx Crosshair IV with ROG connect would be cool!

i think i read that the ecs board will have a usb 3.0 card that comes with it and i think it already has sata 6.0gbs on the motherboard. i think though that a lot of the other vendors will probably offer onboard sata 6.0gbs and usb 3.0. i think it is because amd doesn't offer native support on usb 3.0 with the new chipset so a third party solution has to be used.

I hope AMD will add USB 3 in some SB soon, otherwise it'll be fine with an extra controller chip on the MB. I'm want µATX so I don't wanna waste a slot on USB.

Given that the newest NB's are made in 55 nm, I guess the new ones will be 40 or 45 nm?

Will these 890 boards support RAM over 2000Mhz? Because current AM3 boards only support around 1800Mhz or so.

Fresh from CES today, I got to take a quick look at the upcoming MSI 890FX-GD70. They weren't willing to talk much about it and couldn't give any useful information about a release time frame.

Snapped a few quick pictures which can be found below.

I'll try to get answers to any questions tomorrow

Wow, just what we need. Another board with a knob that breaks off. Why can't they put (+) and (-) buttons like the P55-GD65 and the GD80 have.

Looks like they modified the big ugly blue aluminium thing on the PWM heatsink.

Now they just have to repaint the SATA connectors to black.

Hey that is a decent looking board, i never did understand why they had to make the pci-e slots funky/weird colors, it looks so much better when they stay with a few simple colors and stick with them threw the whole board like on this one
