funny write up 3oh6
haha, that's awesome guys. i am glad so many are enjoying and reading the OC Report
now if only i had time to update with some results. i did manage a 260BCLK 32M but just on phase. still trying to get to those lofty 280BLCK+ that some others have achieved. i am thinking that in order to get more out of the chip that i will need to upgrade cooling, word on the street is that k|ngp|n's Venom pot is the way to go. so we'll see if i have time to squeeze something like that into the fold.
Best review I've ever read Shame the hardware in question sucks.

3770mhz CPU 2600mhz NB | DDR1040 5-5-5-15 | 900/1250
How disappointing.
Clockwise, performancewise, and volts needed for overclocks aren't what I had hoped for these dual core chips.
Guess i'll stick to my e8600's until I eventually move to 1156 or 1366...

No doubt, I think I will keep my 920 for a while.
this is all so true - you can sum up the 32nm 1156 with only one sentence. I tested 661 on 2 Boards (P55 and H55) for 2 days now and I am totally done with it. Bclk wall at around 200 like many of my friends, except on the EVGA P55, so only 670 can do really good. Performance wise my Gulftown eats it before breakfast - 05 and some 32m was all I needed to see. For air/water allday that might do ok, specially with that integrated GPU but for benching more than 1m better buy a 1366 and wait for the big gun to come out

so i spent some more time last night working on memory, but could only get to 960MHz. 970MHz kept locking up or BSOD on me.
so with the jump from 2:6 to 2:8 and even loosening up to 7-7-7, the 32M time has dropped around 20 seconds...which is great. but i still need to get 250BCLK at 1000MHz 7-7-6 to make it really worth it. then i can run that at the 26X multi and get into the 6m 20s range...which isn't that bad at all.
time to jump to the 26X multi...just finishing setup for some LN2 action with this setup.

32M is all i am concerned with at this poin
Best of luck Jody...I'd really like to see this thing fly with 32M...
I cannot get my x8 mem multi working at any decent bclock

nothing you do has a good effect...nothing. period. end of story. not up for discussion. no debate necessary
seriously though, this is the weirdest contact patch i have seen from this pot...
i am assuming that might just not have been enough to handle Clarkbar over 6.3GHz for 3D
the bigger problem was that i only prepped for 32M...that was all i had intentions of running. when i hit the goal that i prepped for in less than 2L of LN2 on the second run 20 minutes in...i let the mob convince me to switch to 3D. no prep = no results...its that simple.
so is there an update on the conclusion? or will there be one?
Thanks for updating on the memory subsystem issues, Jody. You update more on KP forums than here? Just want to know where to follow the updates
