    Armeniandave's Wall Mounted Case

Well many of you know I built my MM extended ascension awhile back. While I love it I am never really satisfied so I'm gonna sell the case and start something I have had in my mind for a long time.

My case will be mounted on my wall in my office between two large cabinets.

It will be watercooled with two Dual DDC Clear Acrylic Top's each going into a MCR320 and MCR220 sandwich. I want to reuse as much as I can from my current build so buying new rads is not an option right now.

Cable Management as well as tubing management are of utmost importance. When its done it will look very simple yet will have alot going on under the hood.

I'm going with a blue theme this time so as to be different then the red theme I've used in the past. The blue will be the same as in my blue brackets.

I'll be using two slot loaded DVD burners as well.

Here's a couple of renders that will show you what I'm thinking about. The pictures don't show any wiring or tubing holes yet. That will come soon.

Enjoy and feel free to ask questions or suggestions!

Enjoyed your last build and this looks to be very interesting, Dave.
What case are you using? Completely fabricated by you?

    Absolutely 100% fabricated!

I seriously looked all over the web for any wall
mounted case's and there wasn't really anything
out there. One guy stuffed like six PC's into one
but it looked a bit messy and didn't really have
the attention to detail that I like.

The main case will be out of wood with fabricated metal
in strategic places. When it's done you won't really see any
wood but the wood makes a great base on which to build upon.

Thanks Shazza and let me congratulate you on your new status.
    It's well deserved!

I want this to be beautiful and functional.
It will be in a way a blending of furniture
and computer to create something not seen yet.

The hard part will be saying bye to my MM case..

    Update on the case

Here are some CAD drawings that are starting to show some details.
The pics show the air intakes on the bottom of the case and also the access panel on the back to facilitate connectors and so forth.
Also you can see some ideas for the fan placements.

I'm working on the front panel that will cover all of the components. It will be a metal frame with a lightly smoked acrylic.

    Design just about completed

Here's a shot of the front grill.
I'm going with the same pattern
as the little grills only blown up huge!

The right and left grills where the rads
are may be black to contrast the blue
on the front grill and the custom X-Brackets.

I'm making some X-Brackets that will mount
3.5" drives so they'll match the smaller X-Brackets.

I will be starting on the case on Wednesday.
Grills will all be cut next week.

    Thanks Kenjiwing & aka_GK!

I think it's really hard for people to imagine
a completely watercooled case on the wall.
If you Google it you will only find half-hearted
attempts. If anyone knows me I don't do anything
half ass so believe me when I say that when this is done
I have a feeling people are gonna be really surprised
    at the results!

Parts are starting to roll in and fabrication on
    the case has been started.

    Thanks!

Well for the three people out there watching this here's an update.

The case is being built right now!
Here are some pics of the pieces coming together.
The channels are for the wires for the fans.
The top and bottom fans will be inset and the wiring
totally invisible. To do this we had to dado a groove
into one piece and then glue it to another piece. This
makes a channel big enough for the wiring to go thru.

Here's most of the pieces drying after being glued together.

Here's some more detailed renderings so you can see where everything is going.

Here's how the rads will be configured.
There is one of these on each side.

Finally here is my temporary rig until the new one is done!
It's a bit smaller than the last one......

I also have a bunch of parts coming in on wednesday, I'll show more of those later.

Thanks for checking this build out!!

Alright I got some parts from Performance-PC's today!

First off are the Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentFans!
There's two 60cfm for intake and three 40cfm for exhaust.
When these are mounted you wont even see one wire or the fan frame!

Next up is the new pump layout. I'm going with dual MCP355's for each loop. I'm doing this for flow, um pressure, no that's not right, oh ya they just look really cool and I had the space for them!! They'll be mounted on my 3G brackets so no worries whatsoever about vibration.

Next up is the quick release fittings so I can change out videocards and motherboards without any problems.

This is how the smaller SSD will be mounted along with a special larger version for standard hard drives. These will be mounted on some custom machined standoffs I made. There will be two of each size to allow for future raid setups.

And finally because this case is on the wall I decided to put the power switch and a couple of USB ports mounted to my desk. This is the plate, unpainted of course, being tested with my current rig. I'd like to acknowledge Performance-PC's for making me a custom 10' long power cable!

Well that's all for now. I will be working on the case tomorrow and hopefully have some pictures real soon!

    Thanks for checking this out!!!!

I tried to type earlier saying how amazed I was. But I was lurking.
So I stopped being lazy and finally logged on to say, "I am amazed, Dave."

Can't wait to see more of the case and your wire hiding prowess.

This is just a quick update.
The case is done except for all the holes
and stuff. I brought it in to my desk so I can
start laying out all the various cutouts.
I will take some more pics later of the back so you
can see how I will hide all the wires.
    Enjoy!

Wow, this is looking really nice! Looking at your MM build I know there wont be many cables visible

One thing that got me thinking, how can the pump intake be facing downwards? I always thought the reservoir should be above the pump. I just woke up so maybe I'm just talking nonsense

I love the idea, but I hate the front window. Go for a display-case look, or maybe a television set (the side radiator vents look like speakers)
The criss-cross bars just look very meh to me.
