    Question about dvi connection

Well I use my tv as a 2nd moniter from time to time for movies and sometimes games if I got people over. My question is I got a 360 and its connected with a hdmi cable. Sound goes through that cable along with video. I want to replace my old svideo cable with a dvi to hdmi cable but im curious to know if I still gotta run av cables for sound or if I would get sound through the dvi to hdmi cable.

I see that now. I wanted to this cable, http://cgi.ebay.com/New-25FT-HDMI-To...item439c08311a. I want to avoid adapters and extra add on stuff. Does audio go through that cable?

its a crap shoot on if those will work, but the dvi to hdmi cables have an adapter built in, the best option is the hdmi cable and the adapter that came with your card

This is the adapter I got with my card, http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Ultra-HDMI-M...item3a55f7a57c. I dont see why it would make a difference between the cable i want vs that adapter and dvi cable.

Thing is DVI doesn't carry sound at all, so unless that adapter is specifically made for ATI cards, it wont work. You will need to use the adapter that came with the card

Tech support from xfx wrote back and said you just use a straight hdmi cable with a approved adapter. There also sending me the adapter for free. Cant wait to see how it goes and have a 42" moniter with 1080p
