The Intel® Solid-State Drive (SSD) Toolbox provides the following functional
    capabilities:

    - Accessing Intel SSD management features.
    - Reporting the drive identification data for Intel SSDs, as well as other drives.
    - Accessing the Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART)
attributes for Intel SSDs, as well as other drives.
    - Checking the SMART thresholds and viewing recommended actions for Intel
SSDs, as well as other drives.
    - Running diagnostic scans on Intel SSDs to check for any READ or WRITE
    errors.

They also changed it so 'trim' takes like 3-4min to run. Also 'trim' is run weekly instead of daily as in V1.1

If you've got trim firmware, do you really need the toolbox?

Is anyones actually taking several minutes?

doesn't it depend on drive usage? as trim would only process those cell blocks that were used?

Does this not work with a 790i motherboard? Says "error connecting to drive".

Ye, it would be good if it at least worked on Intel RAID.
And RAID manufacturers need to find a way to support trim on RAIDed SSds!!!!! Let's make a petition!

    Somebody posted on Intel's forum....

It seems once the X-25M has been flashed to TRIM firmware, HDDErase is no longer required to wipe the drive clean every time a reinstallation is done. The usual quick format and/or vista/7 method suffices. The person also reported no performance degradation in doing this and infact, gained a point in WEI from 7.7 to 7.8 !

Could users here verify this please....

Unfortunately I only have G1 80GB drives flashed to firmware 8820. I am sure you guys should be getting a higher WEI than 7.8?
Here is mine (Core2Quad) X38 system

It's not the world's best rating, but I get 7.9 from my 80GB Gen 1 drives with NO TRIM! Imagine what benefits Trim would bring eh?
