    Linx makes it BURN!

My wolfdale temp sensor was FUBAR from day one, stuck at 39C idle and seemed ok at load.
I now managed a 4.5GHz 1.376V 1.23VTT, but my temps are through the roof, like 99C 1min Linx load. My Wolf is lapped same goes for my TRUE with 2 Noctua P12's with a 1˝mm pressure/washer mod and the mount (and remount) seems good.

I keep telling myself i should not trust the sensors and just prime it, but i cant stop worrying, should i borrow a infrared thermometer (if i can, not sure where to go) and measure it or just live with the temps?

Yes, for 45nm CPU's don't trust idle/medium load sensors but when they're approaching to TJMax value they become very precise. So if in RealTemp you see HOT/LOG in Thermal status area then you're in trouble.
If it ain't broke... fix it until it is.

If you run HT on try with HT off to see if it will make any difference. It should drop 8-10C with ht off.

Something is very wrong somewhere. A Wolfdale chip should never get anywhere near that hot.

Is the heatsink getting hot? You may have very poor contact between the silicon and the IHS, or a very concave IHS.

I've had a few wolfdales that did this with anything above 512mb Linpack test. No clue why they get that hot but I just don't bother using LinX for them.

Just made a third remount and added some more pressure. Contact looked good from the second remount, thermal past was spread nicely all over. Sa i guess i just have a little hot chip and 4.5 on air is not an option :/
