    AHCI To Raid O ?

Hi, I have been using a Intel G2 80g, Windows 7 64bit for the past 3 months. I have the Bios set to AHCI mode.
I have now bought another G2 and wish to raid O them both, So I set the raid up in the Bios and being short on time I tried to use the existing Back up Image I have made with Windows 7, All went well until it came to boot then it BSOD.
I think the Image will not work Because it was installed in AHCI mode.
Does anyone no of a work around before I re install OS and all programs

Nope, you will have to do fresh install. OS image wont work.

Congratulations, you did a full reinstall for nothing
Going from AHCI to RAID and back is soooo easy.. if you know how. Takes all of 10 seconds on Intel-based motherboards.

All you have to do is change a single entry in the registry, reboot, set motherboard to RAID mode, done.
Works the other way round as well.

Is there an equivalent XP fix? That registry entry doesn't appear for me on AHCI/XP Pro 32-bit, and the iaStor entry (no V) shows it's already set at 0 on AHCI, when I'd like to convert to RAID to add a RAID set on my ICH10R. Windows repair install didn't help...
