    Agreed! Just make sure it's the Lvl 2 black PC3500 Mushkin!

    Mushkin Lvl 2 black PC3500 is the best RAM out right now.

    Its the best for BOTH.

    Period. GeiL cannot beat BH5.
    Windows 7 + SSD:
    Mode: AHCI, default Microsoft driver or latest Intel RST
    Defrag: Off
    Hibernation: Off (use Sleep mode, recommend a UPS)
    Indexing: On (it only indexes a few locations, not your whole system unless you tell it to)
    Page File: On (set to the minimum of 16MB if you have a large amount of RAM, disabling not recommended)
    Prefetch: On
    Superfetch: On (RAM is always faster than an SSD - use it)
    System Restore: Off (with regular backups)
    Browser Cache: RAM Only, Disk Cache Off (How to with Chrome)
    Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos, Downloads to HDD (Public Libraries too, see above link about junctions)
    UAC: On!

    wouldnt take the Golden Dragon. A friend of mine wrote a test about them on our site and they basicly suck...
    2x256 mb pc3500 geil golden on a fully moddet nf7-s only reached 225fsb regardless of timings and voltage..

    It is exactly the opposite. Tight timings are a must with AMD,
    not quite as important with Intel.
    edit;
    Geil = Intel
    Mushkin = AMD or Intel w/ 5:4 divider

    I think this is a common misconception. It is important for both.

    From my experience benching this system, timings are VERY important to its performance. The numbers you get vary drastically whether you have 2-2-2-5 capable memory or not.

    I must agree. Stay away from Geil RAM if at all possible. I tried it twice with not much luck.

    But some people love it.

    I have some original Geil 3500 platinum, i bought it when it first came out. Runs cas 2-2-2-5@ 240 1:1, Pulled the HS off and it was BH5's.

    I've had good luck with geil always, and have been using golden dragaon 3200 for customers computers, just cause it so dam cheap!!! low $40's for 256 sticks.

    I've never had a problem with geil. I still have my copper geil 3200's and copper 3500's.

    Guess im one of the lucky one's. I've had my geil 4300 up to 290 1:1, and seen it higher from the person i bought it from.

    I've got mushkin lvl2 here, kingston,corsair,kingmax,crucial,buffalo,samsung,d ifferent speeds of it all.

    I've had luck with all of them.

    Dont even ask where i've been!!!

    I bought the ultra platinum cause it was pretty cheap and not available in belgium. I just wanted to test it. So i bought 2x256(and recieved 2x512) It does around 230 but with 6-3-3 timings. So if you want ram for benching, i wouldn't get it. But for every day use it's just fine.

    A Finnish reviewer has tested both ultra platinum and golden dragon and the results speak for themselves. UP 250@2522 and GD not even rated speed no mater what he tried!
    Believe his UP is BH-5 cos it works so well at those timings. Newer sticks might not be as good tough
    cool cool cool!

    I didn't have any problems with the Gold Dragon stuff when I had it...... it's in the wife's KD7 now, running just fine. Although, not at rated speed.
