    4890 or 4870's in CF?

So long story short I used a drill on one of my 4890's to remove 2 stripped screws and after about 4 hours I got atikmdag.sys errors. Card seems to be dead.

I have some 4870 512 MB cards laying around that will run at 800/1000 But they will need the coolers off the 4890's put back on.

They will be in a Vanilla P6T, so the cards are really close, and will make alot of heat.

Should I go back to crossfire with 512MB cards, or stick with a single 1GB 4890 at 950/1075?

I don't want to replace the broken 4890 because I am waiting till Fermi comes out and will check the prices on every one of the new cards then.

Just looking for a few thoughts Mostly all I play right now is COD:MW2 at 1920x1200

    Thanks in advance

Guess I'm the odd man out, but I'd take the crossfire setup. 2 4870s outperform 1 4890 by quite a bit. (i've had both 4870 cf and 4890 cf)

xfire setup, 2 gpu's r better then one even tho the 4870's r only 512, the 4890 is just a faster clocked 4870 with a die shrink and a few added transistors (cant remember what for but rather insignificant everything else has the same stats)
