prime95 is that sign of instabilty?

been testing with prime, but I notice 1 of the cores stayed at 1024k test #3 for like 10 min while other cores finish the test in 2 min. then all cores moved to 8k at same time but the core #3 only did the 1024k 3 tests while other cores did 10 tests.

    that's with prime 25.9/ i7 920 @ 4ghz, blend custom set ram to 5200MB

Are you sure you have the right version for your OS. There is 2 versions x86 and x64.

This may also happen if any of the cores are in use while prime95 is running, that core will be laggyn duo to activite, but I never saw that much of a difference.

I'm using the x64, and test is still running, all cores are running equally now so maybe there was some load on this core.

I have the same "problem" when surfing the net and doing other things in the background...core #3 lags behind, because he is busy doing other things...so you should disable as much things running in the background as possible...

It has to do with how windows is constantly changing around core affinity, that's perfectly normal.
