    Memtest86 v4.0 failing test 5??

i am just now bumping my cpu speeds for the winter and figured i might as well test my ram while im screwin with all my bios settings... so i ran one pass of memtest86 v4.0 and i got around 80 errors during test 5... i tried bumping the voltage by about .2 (1.9 - 1.92) and im still getting a bunch of errors... i am using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227322 and running at 1600mhz 7-7-7-24 1t any ideas on how to fix these errors?

Does your MB officially support 1600Mhz? They usally dont, so just clock down a bit and the errors will go away ;-P You probably need more volts and better cooling of the northbridge to succeed.

I said "officially support". Bios support has nothing to do with it. Its standard for motherboards to only support the speed that the CPU manufactor has default on the products.

Your specs say "DDR3 1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory" meaning only 1333 has "officially support".

To be clearer: only up to 1333 can you use the "auto /default" settings in bios. Now you must OC the MB - its not your RAM thats failing.
