    need help, graphic card running at PCIe X8 speed

    Hi, I posted this thread at "Intel Info And Support" too, will appreciate any help:

    I have an Intel D975XBX2 board (latest BIOS) other specs in my sig,
    I upgraded my graphic card from 8800gts to GTX260, and I noticed that the bus interface changed from x16 to x8 lanes speed as you can see, I checked it in the BIOS to and it says X8 speed, I used the slot that support X16 speed and it worked at X16 speed with the previous card, I don't know what happened
    Does anyone have an idea what to do ?

    I don't think it will change anything, it says the PCIe speed is X8 not just in windows but also in the bios too.

    Hi abig

    Give this a try:

    Advanced->Chipset->North Bridge Chipset Configuration->PEG Link Mode->[FAST]

    I have tried to clear Cmos, to flash previous BIOS version, and flash again the latest one,

    I have a SAS controller on the third PCIe slot, but with my 8800GTS card I can see it's running at X16 speed and not at X8 so that's not it,

    I don't have this option in the BIOS.

    thanks for your replies anyway, I need to check the GTX260 card in other motherboard and see if the card is defective, or it's compatibility thing between this specific motherboard and the GTX260 card

    If you have something on the Second PCIe slot, your 100% a 8x ... the 2 PCIe slot have 16 lane for both. As soon as you have something on the second PCIe, your 8x-8x.

    I did, it's not it, I finally checked the card on another system and it shows X8 speed, so I think I will RMA the card back to EVGA,

    I have seen this as well on an EVGA 280. RMA it and get yourself a new one.
