    testing (2x)5970 & W3565

    Hey fellas

started with benching this new ATI Monsters and got a new W3565 (nice chip ) too...

    Hardware:

    Xeon W3565
2xSaphire 5970 (flashed Asus Bios so i can use Smart Doc and more than 1.3V )
    EVGA Classified E759
    3x2GB OCZ 2000 CL7
    be quiet 1200W & Corsair 1000W

My bench Win7 crashed at the beginning and so i tested with Vista - more tests with Win7 will follow (included 3DMark03) today...

    Tested first with one 5970:

    Vantage with 2x5970:

Drivers yet are not really good for Quad CF but in Vantage and 03 you'll gain some performance.

    More will come later..

    keep pushing

    Thanks sofos1990

it is not possible to mount a "normal" pot - on our Session last weekend the BenchBros wanted to put one card under LN2:

and then you'll need a bios to unlock the 1000MHz barriere...

40,000 GPU score in 3DV is NICE!
Use AMD GPUClocktool to go past 1000mhz (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...9&postcount=75)

Its easy to use a normal pot... use an early Tek-9, or a MousePot or similar

These new slim ones are the not-normal pots

Nice numbers so far, dont stop!

nice numbers! W3565 looks like a winner

I am thinking like K404 is, use a "L" shaped pot design to avoid that stuff.

    Thanks for the kind words

I'll see if i find a working pot cause aircooled the cards with 1000MHz/1253MHz near at the limit...

So only thing i can do at the moment is pushing the chip a little bit harder ....

....and trying to find out why my performance is in some benchmarks dreadfully.

a tek-9 will fit but you have to be carefull with insulation

To overpass CCC limits just go to C:\Program Files\MSI Afterburner
Open MSIAfterburner.cfg with notepad and change the value EnableUnofficialOverclocking from 0 to 1.
    It's very simple

    @Kabauterman: Thanks

@crustytheclown: Thanks for the information - I know the way to overpass CCC limits with Afterburner but 1.40 and 1.41 don't work...Totally crazy - tested with Vista and Win7 and with all bios versions (Saphire OC, original and Asus) - when i'll try to open Afternurner there comes a message that some files might be missing or corrupted (tried different versions) - i'll test 1.50 beta and hope it will work...

Great results champ looks like a killer cpu too.

I'm running 2 x 5970s atm too and 4gpus on the current drivers in 3d06 just doesn't get too far atm does it. Yet in Vantage it goes as it should, can't wait for new drivers on em either way love your work mate.

    Jep, TEK-9 would work

Afterburner Pass CCC don't runs, Afterburner Crashes if you open it with the changes Value in the Config... AND it only allows 1060 MHz

    Same problem here...
I think 5970 will do 1050MHz if 1.50 Afterburner come out.
