    Project: 'Ghetto Fab'

This is my first wc build. I'm a mechanic in the Canadian Army so I'm not afraid to get some tools out and my hands dirty but at the moment I'm at University and have a lack of proper tools and space to do something really crazy. As a result, I say certain mods look unprofessional (not even counting the ususal standard I see in the worklogs) but one of the guys on ym floor used "ghetto fab" to describe my methods, hence the name. Here's a list of what I have so far.

System: CM Storm Sniper Black Edition
    CPU: Core i7 920
    Motherboard: eVGA x58 SLI LE
CPU Overclock Speed: Hoping for about 4-ish
    Video Card & Quantity: 1 X eVGA GTX 275 1792 MB
    Videocard Overclock: None

    Watercooling: Proposed parts
CPU Block: EK Supreme LT Nickel
NorthBridge Block: To be added later
    SouthBridgeBlock: To be added later
Mosfet Block: To be added later
Videocard WB/WBs: In a future build
    Radiator & Quantity: 1 X Swiftech MCR240-QP
    Radiator Fans & Quantity: 3 X GELID Silent12
    Radiator Location: Top mount
Radiator Fan Direction: Pushing air into the rad
Reservoir: Swiftech MCRES Micro Revision 2
Tubing & Size: TFC Red UV 3/8 ID filled with TFC One Black
Barb/Fitting Size: TFC compression Fittings 3/8 ID
    Pump & Quantity: 1 X EK-DCP 4.0
Pumps-Series/Parallel: Everything will be in series

    The Plan:

NaMcO's build on a Storm Sniper (See: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=227832) served as an excellent guide and insipiration to do this.

The system will be entirely internal because I do not like the look of a triple rad hanging off the back of a case. Money is a little tight but sacrifices can be made in the name of the cooling, with that being said I'm trying to aim for the budget side. Part of this is only putting a block on the CPU for now and later the Mobo. I might add a second GTX 275, put blocks on both and add a second loop but one thing at a time.

I removed the standard hard drive caddy and will mount my drives in the 5.25 bays above. That would leave room for my pump down below with room for a second down the road and the res would be mounted higher up somewhere just off the 5.25 bays.
    For flow, I was thinking;
res, pump, cpu, rad, res, etc...

Most of my parts are en route but I can start on some small stuff. First, Rather than order a new side panel with a clear window I decided to simply remove the fan and cut out the supports. I love the look of the mesh and without the supports you can see in quite well.

Unfortunately my choice of tools and materials is limited. To cut out the supports and smooth out the edges I had only two tools at my disposal:

A 6 dollar mini-hacksaw from Home Depot and a standard issue CF Gerber with a file. (I'm sorry I'm not a photographer plus my camera is crap)

    Here's the supports:

    And now they are gone:

I did a pretty good job considering the circumstances of doing it knelling on the floor of my dorm with a mini-hacksaw and a multitool, but it had it's flaws:

Lastly, it was time to touch up the now shiny steel with some matte black model paint I got from a craft store. The finished project:

Said paint did a damn good job for 2.99 and it gave me another idea. Rather than sleeve all the cables inside the case, i'll paint them.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

Painting was a bit of a chore but it turned out nice. Unless your head is inside the case they look like they are black cables so with the sides on it'll be perfect. I also played with my camera a bit and got nicer pictures but flash was needed otherwise everything was black.

the CPU cooler is on there because it originally going to be a air system and it protects the CPU until I get a wb on there.

Sweet case, nice part. Looking forward to updates!
    Loonym...You are missed.

    The element of one

    Breathe me in
    Breathe me in

I disbelieve in separation. I close my eyes to see you.
This is for you, everything I am. This is for you, take it from me.
I, I disbelieve separation. I close my eyes
    there's no escaping me
This is for you, everything I am. This is for you, take it from me.
In your heart in your soul. I perceive rejuvenation

Breathe me in. I am forever. Deep within I am eternal.

I will return to you. I am with you always. I will never turn away from you.
