The GT's run really nice. TBH how much more speed do we need right now with ram. Is it really bottlenecking anyone out there?

you are bang on with your question, for 24/7 use, performance memory is an absolute waste of funds...period. anyone arguing that point is either selling, advertising, or promoting memory with their best interests in mind, not a consumers.

DDR3-1600 at 8-8-8 (if not even less) is more than enough for any system (X58/P55) and anything over that is a huuuuuuge waste of money in a performance/$ ratio. for daily use, spend you money on SSDs, for gaming use on GPU, and for benching on everything

Corsair is making the best DDR3 memory at the moment. Period.
G.Skill is making kits with high tRCD, which let's them scale to high frequencies but is slower in performance, and they are using BBSE chips in some of their "high-end" kits, which is not what I expect from high-end kits.

I think the bigger heatsink makes it a GTX stick?!

Of course it is, they manufacture everything in China now. They need to validate their testing to make sure they didnt slip on QA considering the price people will be paying for these modules.

its nice for benching. i would never run this kit in my system 24/7 though, the vtt voltage would be astronomical.

I am currently running 3 x 2GB sticks of the GTXs. 1000MHZ 7-7-7-21-88-1T 1.65 VDimm, 1.32 Vtt 7x24 without breaking a sweat. Yes the 1.32 Vtt is a bit higher than my 800MHz 8-8-8-24 sticks needed. However, It is not astronomical by my standards.

Micron chips do they use? I would rather see some better speed on GPU products, that is cool dont get me wrong.
clock for clock no processor IMO keeps up with memory anyway.

The specific ics that they are using is unknown to me due to the heatspreaders. Maybe one of the beardguys can answer that question...
