Excellent review, Thanks.
nice pics!
good review, but its a shame you didnt compare it to any other board...
and im a bit dissapointed that it was only tested on air... it did well on air, but which p55 board doesnt? :P i think this board deserves at least water if not a dry ice or ln2 run if theres no ps unit available...
about the board...
ecp2 looks nice...
can e-leet adjust fanspeeds?
will it stick to the settings after a reboot or when e-leet is closed?
can i select which temperature which fan should be related to?
ie, if cpu heats up, make fan2 and fan3 spin faster, and if nb heats up make fan4 spin faster?
i really dont like the mosfet heatsinks... they are rather bulky and ugly, and they are deadly to airflow around the cpu socket... idk if they work well, but even if they do... i dont like them :P
a bios select dip switch... now thats a great addition!
id like to have seen at least one intel or at least broadcom NICs... too bad...
about the name... ftw is so 90s, and i associate overconfident, pre-teen 24/7 wannabe pro gamers with this kind of talk so.... personally i really wished theyd move on and go for something new
the bios looks a bit messy... but its ok, and lots of nice options in there...
Hey saaya, lots of questions
- Cooling is water
- The review is not an "xtreme" review, it is targeted to the masses. I can post single stage testing in a few weeks at the minimum
- No fan adjustments in E-LEET, just clockgen and voltages
- IIRC after a reboot the board reverts back to BIOS settings. E-LEET is not really intended for saving results like precision or similar. Brink OC is pretty cool, if enabled it automatically saves a screenshot with every clockspeed increase.
- BIOS was good, and pretty much everything worked like it should. And yah the BIOS switch was sweet, it's nice to be able to try a few different BIOS versions by flicking a switch.
cheers,
Z

That is a great looking motherboard and the pictures are top standard, good review.
Would love to see a big brother version of this motherboard with 4 PCI-E x16, USB 3.0 and everything.

Nowadays, it seems that P55 is going to add more features than x58 model. That P55 evga board so nice, thanks for great preview.
Great mobo and nice review thanks for share

I still question eVGA's lack of a lifetime warranty on a "specialty" FTW board.
At least they offer 3 years, some only give 1. I doubt any of us will be using this board in 3 years time anyway.

this is a nice review. I was having a hard time deciding till i saw this review. I just pulled the trigger on this EVGA board because of your review. and you can quote me on that when you next speak with EVGA
Thanks and I might get this board due to the 775 mounting holes too...

Yah the 775 mounting is nice if you dont mind seeing your HS at a slight angle.
