Help needed Setting up Nvidia Card for Pyhics only

I just bought a 5770 Ati to replace my 8800gt, and I have heard that I can set up the Nividia card to run the phyics graphics only but that the Nvidia drivers have recently been altered to stop this (but there is a work around somewhere)
What I am asking for is detailed instructions so I can not mess it up, thanks any help is much appreciated.
