    19" 1680x1050 monitors?

I bought one of these (an Acer X193w+bd) and I'm looking now for a second. The problem is that nobody seems to have the 1680x1050 version in stock. I'm not so much looking for a second one as I'm looking for a similar monitor; something that is about 25.5cm tall (~0.243mm dot pitch?) and has a matte finish. Other than that, something where the screen itself starts about 9.5cm off the desk (counting from the bottom-most line of pixels). Would I be correct in assuming that 21.5" 16:9 1920x1080 monitors would be about the same?

I'd prefer a matte finish on the screen and I hardly care about the bezel finish; glossy or matte doesn't matter to me. Other than that, I'd prefer if the monitor came with a DVI cable (as most already do).

    Any other ideas?

If you plan on using multiple monitors I would highly suggest pairing two of the same type even if you have to have it brought in for you. The reason is that not all monitors have the same colour profile and not all can be tuned the same way. This leads to issues where, for example, a window that spans two monitors on an extended desktop will appear differently on both, and that will drive you insane.

Sometimes it's so small it's hard to notice, but other times it's night and day and you may not be able to do anything about it.

Not even "identical" monitors are identical

I have 2 Gateway FPD2185W's and its quite a pain to get them to look the same.

Identical monitors aren't the big issue; I'd just like to have a pair of monitors that I don't have to stress over using. Considering that I multitask quite a bit, a second monitor has quickly become essential. Typically it's grinding in an MMO combined with reading/something else.
