Surely more than 90%. Here it's near impossible to find a non TN panel nowdays...

I am liking the price on that refurbished NEC monitor. Pity that they're out of stock.

This new dell is beautifully... Not as many options as the gateway (mainly the color adjustment and scaling ability.. but the screen is very crisp especially considering the scratch which is barley noticeable when running and invisible it seems when gaming... glad I rolled the dice on this one and from what Im reading elsewhere I should be able to swap the lcd display from this with the gateways screen... Havent got the nerve up to do it yet but the chance is there... Time will tell weather I roll the dice again (Id be pretty6 lucky not to screw something up ...)

    Ill keep ya posted..'

Thanks a ton for this tip, I bit the bullet and placed an order for three of these for my upcoming system. 30" monitor with good specs and reviews, and built-in pivot (Dell doesn't have), for under $1k each = the win.

Credit card approval was already given, just waiting for them to get some refurbs in stock and ship them to me... I can wait a couple months if that's what it takes... exciting!

Now to make a gulftown/fermi system to power all three of them...

Ok... the wait is killing me... hope they get some refurbished monitors in soon... Dell 3008WFP's were on sale for $1400-ish recently, but looks like that sale is over. Sigh....

I just thought I'd swing by to mention that the Dell U2711 mentioned earlier is selling for cheap on Ebay, i just got one, new, for $825 shipped (after cashback). A lot less than the $1100(+tax, for me) it is stuck at on Dell.com. Just like an order from Dell (which it pretty much is, PM me if you want to know), it won't be shipping anytime soon... but I figured I would have easily bought it for that price if Dell had a sale, so why not do it through Ebay...

Kind of unrelated, but all the talk of the U2711 lately, I had to let it out somewhere.

    what do you mean 2slick4u?

just got my U2711... so awesome
the anti-glare finish leaves a little bit of graininess though...........

i admit, not that much bigger than a 24", but the resolution is realllly nice, and im glad to have no black bars in movies/PS3 games (speaking of which, no more HDMI switch, tons of inputs!)

first monitor ive really felt 100% comfortable with two webpages or something side-by-side... as it gives what, more screen area for each than a 1280x1024 LCD?

Yay, my monitors ship tomorrow! Long wait to get three of them in stock. Now I just need to build a computer that can power three of them...

Most of the stuff that I want isn't out yet... a pity.

    Rough draft of build:

Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Extreme (if it comes out in the next two weeks) or Gigabyge GA-X58A-UD7 (if it doesn't).

CPU: Intel Core i7 980X, gulftown

Graphics: not sure here yet. I should probably wait to see if fermi will be any good or not. Guess I'll find out in two weeks.

Power Supply: Corsair 1000HX (unless my system needs more power?!?)

    Memory: 12 GB Corsair Dominator 1600MHz DDR3

Case: Corsair 800D (suitably noob friendly case)

Boot drive: Crucial RealSSD C300 256GB

Data drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB

    Optical drive: LG Blu-Ray burner

    OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I'll try to figure out some water cooling as well.

OMG it got better... they gave me a discount because I waited so long to get the monitors. Three refurbished 30" displays for the price of one new one, anyone?!?

This puts my budget for the computer to power them back into the "dream" range. YAY!!
