Nvidia Charity project up for auction

    http://charitycasemod.com/

One of the fastest, most tricked out PCs ever built has just been put up for auction on eBay. With a one of a kind NVIDIA themed paint job created by Smooth Creations, the system features two watercooled GeForce GTX 295 graphics cards in SLI, NVIDIA 3D Vision Glasses and Samsung 2233RZ 3D Vision Ready Display, an Intel Core i7 975 Extreme Edition CPU, 12GB of Crucial Ballistix DDR3 Memory, an ASUS Rampage II Gene X58 Motherboard, two 256GB Crucial SSD Hard Drives in Raid 0, two 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black Hard Drives, and more.

The system was hand built by world renowned case modder Richard “Darth Beavis” Surroz, and is valued at over $10,000. 100% of the proceeds from the auction are going directly to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. All of the services and parts used to create the system were donated by the 11 main sponsors of the project.

NVIDIA employee (and former hardware editor) Paul Jastrzebski put together this project as a way to raise money for blood cancer research after a close friend of his was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a devastating blood cancer.

Every company Paul mentioned the project to enthusiastically donated some of their best PC components or their unique services – and after only a few weeks, one of the fastest and coolest looking PCs ever built was created.

Great job in both respects, great thing for the community, and the computer looks great too.

Here's to it selling for over $20,000!

You know, you'd think that NV would have put two fermi cards in here if they really wanted to make a lot of money. I'm sure some investor would be willing to pay double value just to say their the only one with the cards.

sorry but the paint job is terrible imo... and the whole rig doesnt look that great either... the tubing is not arranged properly at all, the case is ugly and bulky... ive seen 10x better rigs here on xs! very nice idea however, really cool to donate this to such a great cause!

The way I read it, this project is done by an nvidia Employee, not by Nv itself.

Whats the paint job supposed to look like? Green rust. This is a good move on NV part, but that paint job.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder? I love the industrial look. As for the tubing, more isn't necessarily bad. Google Project Epiphany by DAE_JA_VOO

It looks like a borg minibar, resistance is futile.
It's great cause however - somebody should buy it for 30000.
NV should offer a couple of Fermis as a free upgrade
    in a few months time

Nice specs, but it might just be the ugliest PC I have ever seen. All these case modders need to ditch the custom paint jobs and LEDs and take a look at the Mac Pro.

My hats off to Out of the box mods...what you did is a beautiful thing. The case, the effort and commitment to the cause is to be admired.

I am always pleased to see a fellow man do something else to help another in need. More importantly, rather than just talk about it, you took action. Way to go DB!

I think the computer was supposed to represent Nvidia and it does, it's ugly, it's green and it's trash. Haha, just kidding! Good fundraiser for a good cause.

Sorry if I was a bit rude Beavis, I didn't read the post properly and I thought I was insulting the work of some anonymous person at NV.
