Looks just as long as 5870 to me.
Also 8+6 pin power, which means that 225W TDP rumour was about right.

Why is there a second setup above the NV one with an old Audigy 2 soundcard in it?
Today's onboard sound is better, hmm I might be paranoid but maybe they're using that soundcard to block the view of an 5870.
Which could have been used to run the benchmark?
If the shoe fits, I'll wear it. But unfortunately it is a little too big for me.
There is definitely the front of a video card (or some kind of card) behind the sound card. I don't see any red though - which would be a dead giveaway for a 5xxx card. We need one of those resolution enhancers from tv shows that makes you able to zoom in on a suspect's skin pores from a low resolution convenience store security camera.
loool please no.
A lot of rigs used by Engineers have got older hardware in them. Do you need an X-fi for debugging purposes? Don't think so.
Look here for instance :
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/mem...n-california/4
Are those S3 virge's and Sis 305's I can see????? NOOO They must be hiding something!1!1
And what do I see there? The Fermi rig doesn't have a soundcard installed? How weird! There must be some secret conspiracy going on!
Come on guys, give me a break.
Fermi A2 silicon is alive and kicking
Source : FudzillaA3 should be the one to ship
For evaluation purposes, testing, playing and toying, Nvidia has been using A2 silicon in its pre-production Fermi-based Geforce cards. The company has quite a few of them inside its fortress and still has not shipped many samples outside of its offices, as it is afraid of leaks.
We have been informed that the A3 version of the chip should be the final one to ship in retail and that the current situation seems feasible for a January launch. However, this launch is likely to take place after CES.
The performance of A2 silicon is good but for some reason, Nvidia has decided to go for A3 silicon on its retail products. This inevitably caused a delay and forced Nvidia to push the product from November to January, and we hope for Nvidia's sake that this will be the last delay.
Multiple internal sources are claiming that January should be the time that the company might start selling Fermi-based Geforce desktop cards.

I still use Sound blaster 24bit and hell its a sound blaster, older techies have heard more about sound blaster series than Audigy/XFi But it does not mean that i love my xfi any less....
If a desktop version of fermi does not come till jan end i am walking "Quite literary to AMD's 5970 store"
Coming Soon

Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.
Guys, you all have it wrong... That hidden card it's not an ATI.
The card in the background, the one that is doing the real job is..... a working Larrabee card.
Given by Otellini himself to Jen-Hsun Huang, in a secret meeting where they shook hands and swore eternal friendship.
After that, the evil JHH got that nasty idea of faking a fermi with the legendary card.
j/k

Im waiting for the Huang isan alien theory. No sound card means it's fake? Lol I felt stupid just typing that.
Hyaruaang is an alien.
I really doubt they're trying to pull one over. They've got little reason to. We know they've got silicon, and it surely can run 3D at SOME speed. No FPS counter makes sense.
Also, an argument isn't ad hominem if the person doesn't try and use the attack as proof of a point. You can make fun of someone all you want to in a valid argument.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.
Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.
Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.
Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.
Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.
Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!
Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.
I too think this is just another part of the faking business of Nvidia. As you can also see on the picture is the amount of cables comming from the top setup going to the bottom and supposingly to the monitor.
Sorry but Nvidia lost there credibility to many times with there BS propoganda.
They look like kids proving that they are the best without HARD evidence, please Nvidia grow up, and go make decent GPU's instead of this childish business
Lies are so obvious to read, because the truth is already writen
I'm not going to speculate on the whether its the real deal or not but at this point one should expect they would have some form of working silicon.
As for the other systems in the picture, this is probably a lab with multiple systems probably using kvm switches. Personally I would expect no less than to see all kinds of different hardware running at the same location that components engineered & validated would be operating.
I would imagine they debug & validate the hardware with various different hardware components to make sure there are not issues under a multitude of hardware combinations with hardware and drivers.

Wow, I can barely see through all this reflected light from the tinfoil hats.
NVIDIA has a bad reputation when it comes down to PR (oh well, which company doesn't?) but there's no reason for them to fake it. NVIDIA is said to have working silicon and the picture just shows "it works", nothing more. I don't see a plausible reason that they faked it.
Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks

I'm sure many struggling firms will pick up hundreds of these. lol buying a card that costs as much as an VW yet knowing a gpu that will cost $500 has the same gpu in it makes a lot of sense.
