    nice runs lastviking and equinox.

I now have my water loop good down to -60*C. Now I need to modify the a/c unit and start chilling the water. Right now I have my rad in a bucket of ice water. I doubt I'll do anything exciting, but will post soon if results are better.

    Very nice, everyone!

Well, it's obvious that I can't compete with Lastviking without cold. I did come very close to 4 ghz, but I'll fry it if I push harder on room temp.

Problem is I don't want to freeze my butt while I'm fragging And I'm after a daily driver, suicide runs aside. Btw, it would be nice if aod showed total cpu volts, not just vid. I had +.1 in bios, but I suppose I could see it under board status.

    Here's 3969 at 30 min and idle:

So, I tried as much cold as I could arrange. System is balanced on the edge of the window

Outside temp is 7C. I managed 4031 @1.525v. Interestingly, I tried the same freq and voltage as Lastviking at slightly better temps, but it would reboot right away. I had to increase from 1.475 to 1.525 to stabilize it. At a marginally higher freq and much higher voltage, I'm hitting similar temps under load. So it appears he has the better pistol

So, 36C at load, 18.9 idle. I really don't want to fry this by pushing volts any higher (again) and for some strange reason my wife wants to spend time with me

    It's been a blast!

That's awesome, and hilarious. What cooling are you using? The WC system in your sig? I'm surprised you couldn't hit 4 with water cooling alone.

This is about all I could get today as the outside air temp where the radiator sits was between 46-47F+/- (8C+/-) during the test and going up. The test system along with the rad is at the window on the East side so I’m getting quite a bit of backlight in the photos so I included a screen shot below each photo.
I know the SS of the test running was beyond the 30min cutoff but I was eating breakfast during the test.

Test running, during first test the temp goes to 35C and tops out at 40C+/- by test 15 (1.61V+/- in bios

    SS of above photo

    Test stopped

lol... madness. I connected a duct to my heatsink fan and put the other end out the window... works great and is much easier imo! Maybe you guys should try it out and save your computers from falling out a window lol. Here's a pic of my old setup:

You guys are cracking me up. Glad to see I'm following a well established precedent in my overclocking development. That's quite the lifeline, Titan. My concern was more having it fall back IN, hence the strategic placement of GRID.

Yes Lars, I'm using the WC in my sig, with the rad still bolted to the back of the pc. There's a pic earlier in this thread. The chip is a little stepping challenged, I think. It reminds me of the time my Subaru blew a head gasket at 250,000 kms. I was only disappointed because it was a Subaru, and I had high expectations. For many other brands making it to 250k would have been awesome! So it's all about expectations... Nice ductwork btw.

I feel it's my duty to point out that we are all running on "Windows"

I like to play these games also, but saddly I have no WC setup so ignore if you wish.

Quick and dirty OC here to 4.0ghz

But you know, I never, ever like to do anything nice and easy...

So I like to take this Prolimatech Mega Shadow Heat Sink and get it rolling, with the big wheels of the Delta "Mega Fast" 7,000rpm 252 CFM fan.

Thats right, be sure to turn it up !
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnot8NmBFos

I had 2 regular fans in push pull on before this and saw about 5c temp drop with the Mega Fast. This fan is about as loud as my Cascade and you can feel the air flow over 3 feet away. Its a bit to much LOL.

    7000 RPM,

What were your regular fans you had on before? I feel like it should be more than 5C drop, that fan is BEASTLY.

Fans before were just some case fans I had laying around, nothing special.

I might try pulling the air through the HS as I had it blowing throw it, not sure if it will make any dif tho.

I am sure there are better fans for this, I am not really a Air Cooler guy so I don't know.

Chew said to me to get ahold of 2 Sanyo Denkis amd as he is usually correct. when I let him that is I might try out some of those.

The Mega Fast is clearly to loud for normal use.

Colder here tonight, so one more run. Outside temp is 0C, and the pc is in the window again Not sure of the exact temp at the window. I took a pic, but didn't bother uploading it since it's in the same spot.

The run is 4118 @ 1.568v (+.1 in bios, and set 1.475 in aod).

It's -2 here now (was -3 overnight), but I'm at work

It looks like my chip needs more volts than yours. I could have done a run at -3C, but I'm getting nervous of condensation. Although it's probably ok with the case drawing in room air and exhausting it out the window. I can see wanting to run a rad outside, but it sometimes gets very cold here when winter sets in, so I'd need antifreeze.

I visited Sweden for work in the mid 1990's and enjoyed it very much. I was in Norrköping for 5 days, with a night in Stockholm at the beginning and end.

Good luck, and don't work too hard.

    Always work hard .

This is from sunday to monday night... wake up and did see your 4118mhz and needed go to work.
