    No Signal On Monitor

    Hi Guys,

When I turn on my pc and all the fans kick in, but i get "NO SIGNAL" on my monitor screen. I also get no beep.
I installed a new psu and some new memory. To install the memory i had to remove the graphics card and when i re-installed and turned on the pc that is what happened.
Code 80 was showing on the LED mobo display as well. I reseated the card several times, tried the original psu and still got the same. The system is a self build for a mate and is only a few months old and has not been overclocked or tweaked

    The current spec is
    Foxconn Blackops mobo
    Intel q8200 quad core cpu
    Hitachi 1tb sata hdd
Samsumg sata optical drives x 2
    Nvidia 9600 GSO graphics card
    4 x 1g OCZ extreme 1600 DDR3 memory
    850w ocz gamextreme psu
    Vista 64 bit ultimate o/s

    Any advise is appreciated,
    Thanks,

    Johnny D

Have you tried CMOS clear? (eg. reseting BIOS) .. than usuall remove batter, wait few minutes, put battery back - start PC (yea and donīt forget to switch PSU off, before taking out battery )

And.. try to hit deleted when PC starts..

Btw. you said you installed memory.. have you tried running PC with just one stick? Have you tested your PSU somewhere else? (my guess is memory..)

    Hi Mescalamba,

The pc was running fine with 2g (2x1) of memory and the bog standard 420w psu that came with the case. I think the psu is ok even though i've not tried it on another pc ( got it off ebay). I'm going to try resetting the cmos first (with the psu turned off), then i'll try the memory side off things and see what happens.

    Thanks so far,

    Johnny D

    Hey Mescalamba,
    PSU of eBay
It's a gamble i know, but the guy seems genuine
The actual fault code is A0 and not 80 as i thought, so your assumption of it being a memory issue could be right.

Can you advise me on what i shoul do please.
The memory in question is 4 x 1G of these

Mm.. do you run them on nominal voltage? (1.9V) .. maybe try increasing it to 2.0V .. or increasing voltage of memory controler, sad is that I donīt know which voltage it is..

    Just idea.

Got it running with 2g (2 x 1g) in single channel mode. Bios has memory at 1333mhz. So its got to be the other 2g of ram that stopped it booting.
I'm abit out of my depth with this at the moment. I'm trying to work out where i adjust the volts and timings etc.
I've entered quantum bios and set memory timings to manual and enabled manual overclocking, and then i get abit stuck.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Johnny D

Try switching current working kit with that second.. if both works, its just issue with memory controler (and probably not enough volts for it), btw. did you upgraded to latest BIOS?

    Guys,

    I got it all sorted.
Upped the volts to 1.8. Set all the memory manually and have the running at 7-7-7-24 and 1333 mhz ( i'm happy with that). NB volts at 1.250 and the cpu v memory at 1:4cpu333
    Running ok at the moment.
Thanks for all the advice. Much appreciated.
