    Question Can SLI be ran without the SLI bridge connector on?

    Just as title states , I have a bridge coming in but I was wondering if I can throw in my 2nd gtx460 in my MB .

    Motherboard is in sig , it came with connectors but I lost them so

    No, it won't do any harm.
    It works.
    The nVIDIA control panel displays a pop-up saying that you'll get decreased SLI performance unless you use the bridge.
    Don't know if it's any different in reality, I haven't checked.

    I tried running SLi without the bridge once, and the performance was akin to having a single card rather than two although the drivers were aware that I was SLi capable.

    You definitely need a bridge if you want maximum performance..

    i was running yesterday with no bridge on gtx 460 sli with a giga x48 dq6 motherboard.performance depends on the type of program i believe.heaven 2.0 and 3dmark vantage gpu scores scaled near double.but the only game i played was tf2 and multi card setups are wasted on that game.oh 1st post hi everyone.

    Nice !! Well I have my evga bridge coming in and just wanted to see if any harm would be done . I'll slap the other card in tonight , run vantage to see what I get without bridge and then with

    Try running Heaven benchmark with one card then two. Err with the connector in your case.
