I`ve decided to go with WS LCD finally!

    I can`t understand the following: if 16:9, you choose 1920x1080. if 16:10 - 1920x1200 then. `m I correct?
I`d like to get 24` LCD with futuristic design.
And yes, TN matrix for sure, having not much money

I think yes, 16:10 can handle 1920x1200 and 1920x1080. Choose the one you like from Acer, Samsung or LG :P

Well I got a Samsung T260N and the resolution is 1920x1200 (16:10). I looks great, and is perfect (for me) to see HD movies.... But the bad thing about TN panel is the viewing angle.

PS: A cuestion that nobody can anwser me before Why when I see a HD Movie with format .mkv the resolution is 1920x800 instead 1920x1080???? 1920x800 is not a FULL HD movie, no?

    thanks

A few options here for you. Not many decent 19x12 TN displays around sadly.

    Depends on:
    1. Movie resolution
    2. Player settings

I suggest you use KMPlayer and choose 16:10 there in options.

    The difference is HDMI in.
And W2486L is 1920x1080. I was picking x1200 monitor myself, if you are fine with x1080, then it's a whole different story.

x1200 looks way better and have more "bigger" picture. + i hate very wide format lcds, looks ugly :S But in gaming i think 16:9 better, for movies 16:10

For gaming x1200 is better since games can actually benefit from the additional space, for movies x1080 is better since most movies are either 16:9 or 2.35:1.
And I really suggest reading reviews and doing some research rather than going by looks and marketing parameters.

For me x1080 better for gaming, i compared in Call of Duty 4, picture looks so realistic. Acer P243 have option to show 16:9 picture 1:1.. But still need buy x1200 for all life moments :P

Hmmm... Full HD is 1920x1080. Why does "16:10" is needed for 1920x1080 (16:9 is enough? hm?)

Let me clarify something for you, you seem confused.
    1080/9 * 16 = 1920
    1200/10 * 16 = 1920

That`s new for me, thanks. But I can`t get clear the following: FULLHD film fits the whole 16:9 display. And if this film launched on 16:10 panel there will be black stripes. Is it correct?

Yeah, small black stripes at the top and at the bottom.
You can stretch the image using your Media Player functions to fill the whole screen, but you would lose the image quality. I am fine with stripes so I don't bother.
Just set your priorities I guess.
16:9 is definitely better for movies.
16:10 is a bit better for games than 16:9 imo, especially if you play MMOs or strategy games, then the difference is very noticeable.
And 16:10 is definitely better for everyday work, such as Office, Photoshop, etc.
