    How's your MPG?

How fuel efficient is your car?

I drive light footed around city, and I get around 15L/100km or 16MPG. If i drive normal gets 20.7-21L/100km or 12-13MPG, worst was 24L/100km.

At least it's not my car(borrowed for a few months), but for the cost of gas, i might as well get a new car.

I usually average about 25mpg in mixed city and highway driving. On the open road sometimes hit 30-32.

    2.3L I-4 Saab 900.

    I used to get around 17 L/100 Km (14 mpg) in the summer. Now that it's cold I'm getting 19 L/100Km (12mpg).
The car is an '89 BMW 525i.

What car do you drive, Celeron Gamer?

Rx8 would do generally 17-19mpg....7 on a track day.
    Laguna diesel would do 46-53mpg..
MX5- is around 33 with a best of 38 so far....track day coming up so will be interesting.
Signum diesel is 40 round town and 52 on a run.
ZX10R will return 48mpg cruising at a constant 90mph complete with luggage....drops to mid 20s on track.
Versys is on 59.9mpg over 6k miles so far according to fuelly.com

    All on UK gallons.

18-19 mpg. 08 infiniti g35xs. If I drive really nicely I can hit low 20s, but that's no fun.

Highway driving nets me 28-31 and city driving about 20-22 in an 08.5 Mazdaspeed3. Filled up yesterday and had 19 from mixed city, highway and needlessly aggressive driving.

Freeway driving only, I can't top 25mpg (US) and I get about 17-18mpg around town in the '00 M roadster.

The '09 Wolfsburg Jetta 2.0T does quite a bit better, so long as you don't spend much time on boost. I don't have very good numbers for it yet but it seems to be averaging about 24mpg around town.

The '89 Volvo 240DL that I use for errands does even worse than the BMW M roadster... which is really sad considering that it's a 2.3L I-4 that produces no power at all (factory spec has it at 114hp from the crank) and it's, surprisingly, a little lighter than the roadster.

My current car is not very good, gets around 29.5mpg (US gallon), 0.8L/10km, mixed driving and no preheating of the engine. If I do some work on it, refurbish automatic gearbox, change differential to a more correct one and fix diesel pump and injectors it will do a lot better. And I am slowly getting there =)

This thread is useless without more specs btw.

    Car: Mercedes Benz W123 Coupe 300CD, 1984.
    Weight: 1550Kg
    Engine: Diesel, 3L straight 6, 115ish Hp, non turbo, 12 valves. (Om603.912)
Driving style: More or less completely dull efficient driving.

Had to borrow a car recently, a Toyota Yaris, terrible car, but more than enough for an A to B schedule.
Got around 41mpg, 0,57L/10km, this is why I loathe gas engines, it's a tiny car with a tiny 1 liter engine, and that is the millage it gets... a diesel would get half. (And if we look at the Audi A2 1.2TDI-3L, it does get half)

Car: Toyota Yaris, think it was a 1999.
    Weight: 1000Kg
    Engine: Gas, 1L straight 4, 70Hp, non tubro, 16 valves. (1SZ-FE)
Driving style: Still dull and economical.

My mom gets 16MPG on a 2003 BMW X5 3.0i. Mostly city driving, but she does go on the highways from time to time. We averaged 20MPG on a trek to NH with this, so it isn't always that bad.

Well what did you expect with such a car anyways? With that car even the lowest millage you can get is still double of what is considered economical.
On the up side, you probably have a pretty nice "soundtrack" to listen to

tbh, it's kinda a piece of crap. Unresponsive steering, squishy pedals, doesn't get much power until 3000rpm (probably cost me 50 cents for stopping at every redlight) and weighs nearly 2.5 tons not to mention the brick like aerodynamics.

Generally 10L/100KM on a warm engine. Double that when cold, 50L/100KM when flooring it. Hell, I even saw 75/100 for a brief moment. I don't have to pay for gas though, so it's not really an issue

'99 VW Passat 2.8 V6 estate. Other than it's huge thirst this engine is bloody brilliant.

'09 328i xDrive = 21.3 mpg combined driving it fairly hard
'99 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L = negative 10 mpg driving it lightly

I usually have the mpg calculator on display overhead on the Jeep and it's usually single digits in town and climbs all the way towards 16mpg or so on the highway.

~18MPG mostly highway. 21.6MPG is the best I've ever gotten, no idea how. My friend easily gets 25MPG highway with shorter gearing and the same motor
