Hello guys,
Recently i traveled to Germany and got a Sapphire HD 5750 on a Conrad store. The default clocks are 700/1150 and without any hardware change i was able to run completely stable (Furmark) at 850/1350.
Im an electrical engineer and i already developed by my own the voltmods for my old 7600GT and 9600GT. Now im really excited to start the modding with this new ATI card. However, first i have some questions that i would like your help to answer:
1) The 5750 have 80 shader units less than 5770, but the chip seems to be exactly the same as it have the same transistor count. These 80 units are hardware disabled? (like laser trimming on chip) or they can be enable by software? (flashing with a 5770 bios)
2) I see some screenshots of MSI afterburning with the voltage adjustment enabled, but in my case this is disabled. This is because 5770 has a different VRM, or itīs just a software question?
3) Have anybody here already tried GPU voltmod for 5750? What is the stock voltage and what is a safe limit?
Thanks!
So what mod atm is WORKING for raising the memory voltage? as it seems that is the that is most unclear, ill just use software for vcore, i also want to put caps on both the vcore and the vmem., the vcore i have figured out, but where can i put caps to help filter the memory, as i think that would aid a great deal in stabilizing a high mem overclock, any help would b great

com'n now ,need some kind of proof with some pics of ur card................ my card is not able to clock above 1052 ,any volts .................
Can AC L2 Pro cool 5770 enough to clock above 1052 ?
here's a pic

mods pl... update ur vmods
Nice !! So i can solder a Pot on one of those red dots and then to ground ?
What kind of voltage did you need for that 1000-1350 ? Nice result !
It seems your 5770 has a 5750 PCB. Did you need to mod your card ? or could you use afterburner ?

So no luck so far with VMEM mod? I have a 5770 vapor-x coming this week.

^that /w 100k VR is the correct Vgpu mod for 5770s correct?
Also, hiwa, could you elaborate on this please?
Are you saying it's dangerous to run hynix ram over 1320mhz even without a VMEM mod?

Asus non ref 5770 CU core.
This should be VGPU, 100K to ground. Won't really need unless your going cold as software supports up to 1.35v.
Not sure on vmem yet.

anyone interested in doing a droop mod, or OCP mod for 5770...? I have only my sons to play with..and I have to play nice
*I have noticed at 1100mhz core, with 1.372v real, the GPU is running roughly 40-65% of default OCP limit. Just wondering for those that have gone cold with these what OCP troubles you were runnign into, and if you had to mod for OCP or flash the BIOS to alter OCP for 1.2ghz+ core speeds. I plan on purchasing another for benching later.
..if I am reading the datasheet correctly, removing resistance at pin24 should set SWfreq to max, and adjusting resistance at pin25 should offset OCP limit.
Could someone help with finding vmods on gigabyte non- reference 5770?
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I was thinking about maybe trying an undervolt mod on a Gigabyte 5750 Silent Cell and figured this might be a good place for some guidance. I've done some volt mods before, but it's been a while.
First of all, the Gigabyte 5750 appears to use a uP6209AQ for the core voltage regulator, not the uP6201BQ on reference cards. The chip has the same package, though, it's 24 pin like the uP6201BQ. Either my Google-fu sucks or some of the guys here have connections in the industry, because I can never seem to find datasheets for these parts. Can anyone confirm that the feedback pin is the same as on the uP6201BQ (pin 12)? If it would be possible to just upload the whole datasheet that would be very handy.
Second, for undervolting I would want to pull the feedback high, correct? So just take the feedback through a 100k ohm pot to the +12V? Or is +12V too high, should I try to find a 3.3V rail or something like that to pull the pin high?
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
edit: Think I found the data sheet.
http://ceemic.pri.ee/hardware/datasheets/uP6209.pdf
Reading over the datasheet and hinking about this more, looks like what I'd have to do is find the resistor R37 on the card and reduce its resistance. This will cause the voltage divider to feed more of the output back to the feedback pin, and the regulator will compensate by undervolting. Does this sound correct? I might try a pencil mod on the resistor first to make sure I'm doing this right, and if I notice a change in vGPU then I'll put a 100k pot in parallel to provide an adjustable and more permanent mod.

Hi, i would like to get some help with modding a ASUS HD5770 CuCore. I see the 1 pic of it but its not very clear so any assistance would be very helpful. Also maybe for starters, something a little easier, it voltage measure points.
I am planning on putting this card under LN2 and will let you know how it goes
AMD's reference HD 7770 uses L6788A too.
