Temperature Monitoring?
I revived my AMD system yesterday (Windsor X2 4200+) after the PSU on my main system died. However, I didn't have many supplies on hand and I'm running it without any thermal compound right now. The CPU temp was reported as 31C in BIOS, and the fan doesn't seem to be spinning up at all, but I'm looking for a way to monitor temps (currently using M2NPV-VM -nForce4xx chipset).

the best temp software
If you got an asus board pcprobe works well. most motherboards regardless of brand come with their own temp software.
Personally i use Speedfan
Just click this link and you will see another link inside of a paragraph highlighted in blue "speedfan 4.39" click that and download it. Best and most compatible software i have seen; besides it has controls for fans for some mobos.
