    Recommend a monitor

    Hi Guys,

I want the best monitor I can get for £300 - £400 if you can get it lower than that it'll be great.

    I'm looking to buy a 24" - 26" Monitor with a resolution of at least 1920x1080.

I want it to be the best you can get.

I was looking at the Samsung T260 and the new Samsung XL2370 coming very soon, I'm stuck on what to choose.

So you would say the T260 is a good buy, the T260HD also appeals to me but it's stopping me from buying it as it has a lower spec the the original.

    Is the difference noticeable?

they have the same stats, dynamic contrast is meaningless, the contrast is 1k:1 on both, i am not sure what is beter they both look like a TN but with different back lights

O ok, so the T260HD would be better so I can get the inbuilt freeview etc.

It won't matter if it's a TN, it's what I can afford really. But is 1k:1 CR any good, I've seen TV's that I can get for the same price with higher CR's, is there something more in depth that I'm missing?

a 26" tv will not have the resolution or color field as a monitor and contrast can be measured differently from manufacture to manufacture.

OK, all I really need to know is, since I'll be buying my new monitor in about 4 months, shall I wait to see if there is a new LED Backlit 26" Monitor released then or go with the T260HD (or T260) if they have good picture quality?

Thanks for that, can you explain the quality of it, are the blacks black and do the colors show enough detail and vibrancy?

    Just checking

The U2410 is quite expensive for my budget, what about the G2410, I think it's a TN but it looks good, would it be better than the Samsung T260HD?

    £.50 under budget including shipping?

    EDIT and back to ebay
the samsung does look to cost significantly less (more like the bottom of your budget, not the top)
    and is larger
    but same res

you should be happy with either (though i cannot comment on the T260) but h-ips (what the dell has, and dell assembles/packages/warranties their monitors very well) is like the best consumer level panel out there
i went from MVA to TN and really wish i spent that little bit extra and went _-IPS

OK thanks for that, would you think the T260HD (With built in tv tuner) is worth it? or just stick to the original?
