have a laugh @ my expence

    sold a dude a x800xl for 20 beans

he recevied it said it works, said it was loud, and then sends me this

the ati x80xl graphic card had a technical fault.

First day after fitting it to my mates pc it apperently made a strange noise and crashed his windows and damaged his hard disk drive.

He is very annoyed and wants me to get his money back...

I propose that I send you the card so you can check it and transfer the money back.

    regards

My freind once said that "hard drive" is a word people use when they know nothing about computers. Its the only term the movie industry is curretnly aware of, In EVER movie, all they talk about is the hard drive hard drive hard drive. Its so true, next time you watch a movie listen..."johnson i broke the hard drive" , "sir, the robots dead, the hard drive fried", "sir, the f-16 is going down, the hard drive blew", "sir the grid is shutting down the hard drive is damaged" ...all those stupid CSI/NCIS fake crime shows, "he hacked my hard drive, he took my hard drive, it needs a new hard drive"

And now this guy is saying...guess what his GPU 'damaged'? =Hard Drive. ahahahaha

Anyone see the new Die Hard? Guess what blew up in the hackers computer? Hard Drive.

Guarantee he didn't do his research on just what that card was and he was expecting the performance of a 4850 out of a x800xl and being disappointed, he's being a kid and wants his money back by making up some excuse that would never hold water. That or they didn't put it in right in the first place.

Lol that's so true. A couple years ago I was talking to a friend of mines about computers and this girl overheard. She came in and started telling us how good her dad was with computers. Her proof? "He changes his hard drive like every month!"

The fail is strong in this one!

The fail force tells me two different scenarios.
    1. He hot swapped the graphic card.
    2. Since this card is sitting on both fences, ie AGP/PCI-e, he did not manage to match them correctly...

Haha, I saw a mistake like this one from Ikea once, they had a work desk with the ability to hold a hard drive on the side.

Reminds me of my uncle asking me to download a new graphics-card for him. "But don't download an illegal one, I don't want any legal issues"
