How are we supposed to compare those results??? The CPU needs to be the same on both rigs to give us a reasonable apple-to-apples comparison

I'm a little confused about that too. Given that the rest of the two systems are the same, right down to PSU, I'm assuming that this is the same PC with different graphics cards used - in which case, why change the CPU and stuff up the results?

    this thread should be called.

    E2160 @ 3.8Ghz vs E8400 @ 4.00Ghz

The difference in speed and cache is going to make a difference in the results. Youd be surprised just how much too.

Yea, well if he want´s to show as the performance of a 5870 he must do it with the same CPU, Mobo, memory. Theres a big difference between a E2160 and E8400...

Well Gaul I think if you want to show as the performance of the 5870 you gotta use the same hardware (mobo, mem, cpu). The performance of the Q6600 and E8400 are very similar, but some people can say that is not a just comparison....

Looks to me like even with if it did have the same hardware the 5870 is not that great for a double spec improvment in Shaders over the 4890.

It amases me each time again that this is still being called a comparison... data is soooooo off... and then it's being called a personal review which makes it more valid ? C'mon...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Ontopic:OMFG the results are close,I will test with my 4890 @ 1050-1200 tommorow,congrats anyway.
For the E2140 @ 3.8 is not E8400 @ 4.0 crowd other than getting the award for Captain Obvious! (well deserved you all earned it) you should look at CPU scaling for this game, since the differences are very small 2 FPS max between the 2 CPU's which makes it weird seeing that a card with double the hardware specs is only 6FPS or 4-5 (CPU bound) faster than 4890....

just make a chart comparing CPU / GPU / Resolution scaling instead of all these screenshots... there's no overview here... also use data of at least 3-5 runs and take the average...

    E 5200 @ 3.75Ghz and 4890 @ 1010-1150 28.31,will try some more OC later.
Can someone with a 5870 try this test and tell us their results it just seems extremely weird that the gap is soo small between 4890 OC and 5870...

    Damned 200kb limit...
