Hmm, i am almost absolutely sure there is no way to do that. It hasn't the voltera regulator so no soft mod...

Anyway, im willing to listen to other answers cause i have a 9800gtx+ card and i would love to sofmod it

The quality of the pic doesn't allow me to pinpoint the mod soldering point so you'll need to find out to what solder pad the trace leaving pin#6 merges first. I've marked pin#6 with red in pic below. Likely the pad of interest would be the upper pad of the white surface mount ceramic capacitor immediately right from the marked pin, can't tell for sure from that pic. Measure resistance between any ground (6pin plug, screw holes, eg.) and the pad and solder a resistor around ×20 the measured resistance between the pad and ground.

And yeah, no softmod for that card.

what the resistor below the white cap measures @ ?

its kinda blurry but once you find the resistance of the resistor below the white cap.. lower it or..

you can also use you the point below the resistor to lower resistance

Im envious bro. The XFX 9800GTX+ cards I had reacted very very badly to voltmods. Because the 2D clocks are so low, I had artifacting from startup if I had a voltmod active and the drivers wouldnt load. I had to turn off the volmtods and apply them in windows... even at that, MHz were crap. My cards definately coldbugged!!!

i was lucky this is the first 9800GTX+ i ever touched , i never turn off mod and booted @ 1.42 every time, no had any problem with

If you voltmod by changing VID, OVP might never be a problem? I believe its also partly temperature-related? Awaayyyy back in the day, I benched my GTS 512MB at 1.61v (load) under dice.... 1050MHz core utterly stable

I want to bench the GTX+ and GTS512 (again) I hope to give you good competition

Hi guys, i'm an italian user and this is my first post on XS.

I know this post is very old but i have the same card and i want to v-mod it.

Before starting i want to know how i can measure the core voltage...where is the measurment point?

The mod consist to connect a 100k resistor beetween the white capacitor and the ground??

Ther is something to v-mod the mem voltage?

Thanx to everyone can help me.

    bye
