    First HD5870 1GB overclocked results

I've had the chance to play with AMD:s new HD5870 graphics card. Since no one have posted any results yet, I give you some results on aircooling.

    Testsystem

    Core i7 965 @ air

    Gigabyte EX58-DS4

    2x2GB A-Data 2200+ CL8

    AMD HD5870 1GB @ stock air

    Silverstone Zeus 1200W

OS is Windows 7 x64 with driver 8.66RC9. All results are made with around 1.4 vGPU and 100% fan speed. First up is Vantage.

    Performance 20014

    Extreme 9681

    Then some 3DMark03

As you can see it's quite an awesome card that overclocks at least close to the 4890s. This is with ES sample GFX as well so AIB board results should be better. That's all for now, more to come

It's no bios mod, it's software and it doesn't originate from AMD so it should be available real soon

Thanks for the preview. Looks totally even in vantage to a 4870x2 (except gt1 is way higher and gt2 is way lower), but I guess not as strong in 03/05/06. 3 more of them will solve that issue though.

About time somebody posted some results Looking like a strong card seeing how you are hitting 1GHz on stock cooler. Now we need 4x at 1.2GHz/1.5GHz core/memory!

dont know if this passed XS already but:

    http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1080/15/

The run was at -45 , might have several reasons, but perhaps it has a really low coldbug?

    1250 mhz core
    1390mhz mem

That's still better than many if not most 4890's at that temperature. Hopefully it'll also scale colder...

Nice to see some clocking done!

Did anyone test the AMD GPU Clock Tool? Version 0.9.26.0 should support RV870
