Hm, I'd really like to throw a machine on MJ12, but what's all this bandwidth talk about? I got an extremely slow inet connection here (house-sitting while my parents are gone in a cowtown without proper internet...)
It's hardly enough for WCG and Milkyway WUs with all the machines pounding the servers, so I guess I better leave it huh

If you wanna have a laugh: 128/768 kbit up/down... yeah, not funny

MJ12 takes a lot of bandwidth but just about any internet connection can run it. Try setting 50-100 workers in the MJ12 client and see how it works out

I defo need to retweak my settings for both machines. Dont always run both simultaneously so set to use all my bandwidth per machine.

I don't know if anyone's noticed but we've been having a nice little battle going on between Rechenkraft, Dutch Power Cows and XS.

It's like this for the last few days....for the first few hours of the new crawl day we stay within maybe 300-500k URLs between ourselves, Ukraine, Rechenkraft and the Dutch Power Cows.....by about halfway through the day, we pull ahead by a few mil giving a little hope then snatching it away, merciless b*astards!

I prayed to the Gods of the copper cable phone line heavenly lands... and my prayers were answered!

I've no idea what BT or my ISP did, or if its an old issue finally been fixed. Sync speed jumped from around 2.8mbit to 5.7 yesterday and its stable!

    FULL CRAWL AHEAD, CAP'N!

Gonna make good use of it in case it really is another 'temporary fix' thing. Was lot of problems with my line a few weeks ago plus they did some emergency network maintenance.

    Guessing they fixed something
