YAY i got 20k today!

hey guys.

will i finaly did it i broke 20k. i kinda cheated by going out and buying the 9800pro but i couldnt resist the sale they had on them at comp usa for 299 plus my new intel rig needed a card so ill use the 9700pro for the intel rig....

anyways im finaly part of the 20k club just in time for the 30k club i see!!! man thats nuts 30k?!?!? now if i could only get 30k !!

hey thx man.

no i have not modded the mb or the card at all infact the card is right out the box i got it friday. the system is all air cooled.

Pretty easy to get 20k with a 9800pro isn't it?
I've got a 9800 from a friend.(whose mobo still needs to be RMA'ed) It's modded to a pro, but it overclocks like **** I only get like 420/350 and not even fully artifact free.

here's my url. Score is pretty equal, but you beat me over 10fps in draghotic low. I'll need to try out the cat's instead of the omega drivers i guess. I just installed these cause of the softmod, haven't had much time since.

well i can actually get 2600mhz but its a little shaky.. anyways i use the slk900U by thermallrite and a 92mil tornado in a case thats got lots of fans... believe it or not my avg temps under a load are 38-44c thats it...

hey anyone know what the avg oc is for these 9800pros? i mean like what kinda ocs do you guys get? i have used up to 420/351 but im sure it has more in it. im on the stock cooler so im thinking about doing the mod to it and put one of them U coolers on it the "cooljag" i think its called? anyways if anyone could give me some imput that would be cool. i just got this thing and so far it seems strong. wanna try for 21k but i know thats going to take alot more card then i used for 20k thats for damm sure!

Perc, 340/360 on my 9800 Pro, unmodded, stock cooling, it's not the greatest, but it's not the worst, for a change.

thx bro that gives me an idea of what to expect out of these cards. i know when i was trying for that 20k i wasnt really using that much oc to achieve it i think i only used 420/351 so judging by what you get i still have a little left in the oc? hmmmm bet i could reach 21k that would rock if i could without having to change the cooling on the video card!

hey thx man... will that just figures not only are you a member of the 20k club but your running the 9500?!?1? i know man i read all about those 9500's but by the time i knew about the mod i had already owned the 9700pro so i never bothered. wich by the way my old BBA 9700pro was going to go into my intel rig but a friend of mine bought the card so now ill just pick up another 9800pro to stick into the intel rig.... that should make for some serious compition between the two rigs! amd vrs intel both the same video cards... yeah that is going to be fun i cant wait.

Hate to badger you about your cpu so much perc. But i was wondering what is your vcore? That is a really good oc on air, i thought it might be wced but guess not. I knew the slk 900s with 92 tornadoes were good but dang. Are you running the tornadoe at full speed?

i had my 9800 pro oc'ed to 445/371 with stock cooling and no mods and atrifact free. unfortunatly it just died on my when i got my new mobo (replaced the a7n8x with the nf7-s) and changed the vcore and somehow that killed my card i guess. well im trying to fix it, but in the mean time its my old 9000 np that im stuck with which really sux. another bad thing, my ram is really holding me back and my score isnt 20k yet, but some mushkin 3500 bh-5 is on the way so my oc will take off and 21k or more should be soon as long as i get a new vid card . congrats on the 20k on air perc, i havent gotten there yet wced, but thats being upgraded 4 x-mas

Did some more benching. Same settings, only higher mem clocks. I think this is pretty interesting as we have almost the same rigs. Still have to try out those cat's

hey man sorry i didnt see this post sooner, my v-core is 1.875v and my avg temps underload are around 40-42c and on a really hot day maybe 44c but thats about it man. infact when running my JIUHB chips where i can run 2500mhz on 1.8v my temps are under 40c full load! oh yeah the 92mil is running full speed that is a must for this rig.

OH and guys.... thx for all your kind words this site has been nothing but good for me and my rig ever since i started comming here my scores have gone up and my system runs better so. THANKS GUYS

Nice Job. I remember when I broke 20k with my old Amd rig. I had to run it in single channel because the board wouldn't do over 200 mhz fsb in DC :O. Put some water on that raddy and you can pull of like 450+ and also get more out of the cpu. You could easily go over 21k.

id love to put some water on that raddy but the problem is im running an all air cooled rig.. someday hope to water cool this rig but right now i think being able to achieve the ocs i do with this system keeps me happy and that makes me lazzy and i never get around to building that water system i know i need...

i fixin to turn my attention over to my p4c rig i got and start ocing that. i just bought a sp94 and a 92mil tornado for that bad boy. im in the market for memory right now infact see my other post on "what memory should i buy" youl see that im looking for advice on what i should buy? oh well thx for the reply dude....
