    Cutting holes for Rads

I found a clean way of making holes for rads. If you happen to be an Electrician/Modder like me, or know one. You can use a 4" knockout punch to make 120mm holes for fans.

    Cutter and sleeve.

    Hydraulic pump/draw stud

    Test fit

    Perfect

Some of you may have already known this, but for those that didn't, just thought I'd share. ; )

btw, the 3" cutter works perfect for 92mm fans

This one http://www.toolup.com/greenlee/7310sb.html is similar to the one I have, but they do make non-hydraulic ones that would less expensive, or make friends with an electrician ; )

Seems the single 4" is gonna prove hard to find, and then it is gonna be over $100..... Good method, just damn expensive......

I got my 4" cutter and die for $79 on ebay, I've had the pump and draw stud for years.

BTW, the actual cutter size is 4 1/2", but thats what you cut for a 4" conduit fitting.

I've always preferred this method but it's far too rich for my liking. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/items/4A752

I'll either stick with my hole saws or maybe try to make my own slug punches.

what happened to the good old days and dremel

30 dollar dremel + swiftech template.

    accidentally cut too close tho...

not to sound mean or anything...

but asking people to buy 600 dollar punches, and 1000 dollar pneumatics... is kinda silly just to punch holes for rads.

@ that cost, id rather send my case out to bei and he would laser cut/scribe me anything i wanted as well as water punched whatever i wanted.

I dont think it sounds mean, thats why I said in my original post, and I quote

"If you happen to be an Electrician/Modder like me, or know one. You can use a 4" knockout punch to make 120mm holes for fans."

That being said, you can get the cutter and die for under $100 on Ebay, and you don't need the pneumatic pump and draw stud, they make a simple draw stud you can turn with a wrench.

I still use a dremil for lots of things, but those two 120mm holes I cut took less than 5 mins and required no filing ; )
