hey guys once i work out how to put up the pics i will do so as i just wanted to show u guys how it turned out before i shipped it out. so if some one could tell me step by step on how to post pics now that i can not just up load them to this site

Navigate to http://tinypic.com/, click the choose button, select the image,(seems you can only do one at a time) click the big upload now button, copy and paste the line under "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" into your post.

Using http://photobucket.com/ may be easier because you can upload more than one at a time but requires you to register. After registering it is pretty much the same procedure as tinypic.com.

^^ those are currently the only way you can post images here. Image uploads to XtremeSystems was disabled a while back after the database kicked the bucket like it did. Hope it comes back sometime soon

so i think i got this right so here are some pics and i have it holding -90c at 300w (on load tester)
now when i have it on a cpu and do some burn ins (100% load) it never goes below -103c
but will be doing more cpu testing tonight and i will post some screen shots of how far i have the cpu overclocked

I really get angry when people ask you to build them a unit you fork over your own time and cash to build it for them and then they go missing in action.

Sorry for the rant but it happened to me recently

Anyway thats a cool case how did you bend the angles like that?
Also I cant tell but did you use a TXV or dual cap?

Is that condenser the one you got from the A/C window unit? What are the dimensions on that condenser?

@ runmc yes it is one that i got out of a a/c and its 24" long and 18" tall 3 row

about the case guys me and a friend made the case out of 18 gage steel and use a brake to make the bends then got it powder coated

@gom i will get some more pics of the inside as well as pics of the process of me building

How did you create the grill holes? It would have taken me forever to drill all of those holes. I absolutely hate making cases because they always take me way too long, cost me a fortune in materials, result in me cutting my hands, and in the end my cases look like sub-par.

looks good buddy. if you want to do some testing on a killer CPU, just let me know...i might have one lying around here that loves to run 5.5GHz at -100C

300w is alot of heat

wprime on i7 will be around that, other wise most other benches are alot less

What cpu are you benching, look forward to the results.

well guys i have just been benching some old p4 775 socket cpu's but i would love to get a quad on it to do some real testing as the 300w is load tester watts and its just not the same. so as asked here are some more pics. and thanks guys for all the nice words

I see your using a Sc18clx2 for the second but what did you use on the first stage it looks massive?
Also are you using a suction line accumulator for your receiver?

looks like its a expansion tank that doesn't have a cap tube connected to it. Shouldn't really make a difference

Only difference is it dumps the entire charge of ethylene when it starts as apposed to just letting it out

That appears to be a suction line accumulator (which is often used as expansion tanks) if im not mistaken but for the first stage with a TXV I thought it was best to use a receiver to insure only liquid fed the TXV

Hey Brad!

That unit looks amazing, great job. You seem to be a master of getting/making high-quality parts inexpensively!

What size AC unit did that condenser come out of? 10k BTU?

And I'd like to recommend that you try the cascade out on a wolfdale (or similar low heat output CPU), so that this unit doesn't have the same floodback issue as the SS I bought from you.

That said, I'd like to tell everyone here that Brad really stood behind his work, and was fully willing to pay to have my unit fixed by a nearby builder. Anybody can make a mistake such as that on a unit, but Brad really took responsibility for his mistake. He's an extremely helpful person, and judging by these pics, a nice cascade builder as well

in my pics there is 2 recivers side by side one with the rotolock on the top is the reciver for the txv and the other one i cut the rotolock off of it and welded it up as it was one that u could not take off then i used 3 meters of 0.031 captube so it would work as my expation tank oh i guess u can't really see the 2 recivers but they are there
now for the gril in the front and side i just cut out the holes and tacked welded in the steel stuff with all the holes in it (so no i did no dilling of the holes i bought the steel like that and for the first stage compressor it is 1?2hp 8000btu compressor i got out of a real big pop cooler from a conveince store
@eligray now unlike your system where yes it had a little to much gas in it the first stage has a reciver on it and a big accum on it and for the second stage all the r1150 would boil off way before it would ever get back to the compressor.
@Oj101 i will get it running again tonight and i will post power consumption tonight.
