    i did some quick tests with a kit of RipjawX 2133 8-9-8 i got off ebay.
    it's a very very old kit, the stickers on the modules say february 2011, also it uses green (8 layer ? ) PCB.
    CPU is single stage cooled, RAM air cooled.

    .:. 32M - 2260 MHz :: 6-9-6-24 :: 1.8 volt

    .:. 32M - 2500 MHz :: 7-10-7-24 :: 1.8 volt

    i'm really not satisfied with that, more than 1.82 volt and the system will not post...
    first time I have in my hands a DDR3 kit that doesn't scale at least up to 1.9/1.95 volt...in' BBSE...

    I asked the seller if the memory can boot at CL6-9-6-24 and he responded that it can't boot . So , i decided to pass .
    It seems that the seller did not test them properly ... and you were lucky !

    ahahahah
    i was 2 times lucky because they are BBSE and not Hyper like the other ripjawsx kit with green PCB i have.

    2500 7-10-7 seems good, I really doubt they are BBSEs

    probably good PSC

    PSC will never do tRCD 9 at 1130MHz, those are BBSE for sure.

    I have two identical Kits, one older than this, one same week, both have BBSE - on 990 and BD you never know, TRCD Limit is often higher than on Intel and mems run a lot better (had lovo kit hyoer running 1000 c7 1,71v on 1156, now runs at 1053 C7 on Crosshair V at about same V at someone else). But these are definitely BBSE, on my kits for sure and on the above as well

    Hey guys, I used to follow this thread a few years ago I ended up buying some Dominator GT cmg4gx3m2a2000c8 ram, I remember paying an awful lot for it (?200 I think) and now that I don't need it I was wondering if it is something you guys would be interested in buying? At the time it was deemed the best ram for AMD and has been flawless ever since I had it, I was too scared and lacking in the knowledge needed to overclock them so I hope someone can get proper use out of them. I will set up a for sale thread, this is in no way meant to be one I just wondered if they are still sought after sticks, if anyone not interested could PM me with an idea of what they might be worth I'd really appreciate it

    Unfortunately the resale prices of Hypers have plummeted since Ivy Bridge was released and 2200+ memory speeds became readily available. Additionally, the 2000 C8 sticks were on the lower end of the bin for Hypers.

    I'd say you could get $60-$90 for a 2x2GB kit if you can find a buyer. The market is a bit saturated right now.

    Don't tell that to chew*, his Flare blasted 1100 7-9-7-15 with like 1.7v IIRC?

    The Dom 2000 C8 are a bit of a mixed bag, I've seen 1000+ 6-7-6 and 1150 7-8-7 out of them then other kits struggle to do much above 1000 7-7-7.
    SuperTalent kits were the same way, 2000 C7 were decent enough and some gems in 2000 C8 but 2133/2200 CL8 didn't perform quite up to expectations a lot of the time. (1700 CL6, no tRCD = CL+1 scaling)
    I'm wondering if maybe 2400-2500 7-7-6-20 on LN2 can be done on Ivy with Hypers for those with a good IMC without too much trouble?

    I don't know wether to keep my Hypers to try them on Ivy or to sell them so I have more money for binning. They wouldn't do 1066 on Sandy but bench near 1100 7-7-6 32M on BD/PD and up to 950 6-6-5.

    The biggest problem that I've seen is that clock for clock, they get beaten in benchmarks. For example, even at 2400 8-8-8, they would lose to BBSE at 2400 9-11-9 in 32M. Perhaps it has to do with how loose the tertiary timings have to be to hit the 2400MHz... dunno. For a while I thought my Hypers would somehow still be good on Z77 but they haven't proven to be very useful

    Hypers have become obsolete. Everybody still has them but nobody wants them anymore. Pretty sure everybody was expecting this ram to have a very long lifespan as it could run very tight timings at reasonable speeds.

    What do we see now? Samsung and Hynix at cas 9, 10 and even 11. From what i've heard, Haswell will be no different so i reckon we will stick to this loose timings mem a while longer.

    I don't know what Piledriver prefers but i'm about to find out.

    Zeus I think more are using PSC or BBSE instead, though using Samsung/Hynix at 2600-3000 with a good IMC isn't going to hurt very much.

    @bassplayer thanks for the info. I wonder if people just haven't worked on tightening them or if they do really need to be that loose. On Bulldozer I've gotten 2170 stable with Hypers, maybe 2200 on Ivy with CL5 LN2 and tightest possible tertiary/secondary timings would not be bad at all.

    I know that manufacturers don't validate them anymore but hey.

    I like to try a bunch of different combinations...

    Thanks for the input guys, I can't believe how different it is now, I remember at the beginning of this thread everyone was after the hypers, people were even voiding warranty on expensive ram just to see what chips they had! I guess if no one wants them I should try and put them to use, is there any point in buying another set to get 8 gig? I mainly use my system for gaming so I hope my uses are not too out of place here!
    I currently have my GTs at 7-7-7-24 @ 879MHz on my Crosshair IV Volts set to auto and it seems pretty happy NB @ 2856MHz.

    What should be the max volts I give these with 'reasonable' case airflow cooling them? It would be cool if someone wanted a side project and could guide me on to see what we can get from these, I may as well try and get my monies worth

    Thanks again.

    I liked the most PSC and BBSE too. Unfortunatelly, I have only PSC in my collection. Bulldozer like PSC, but Im going with time and need 8 GB DRAM, so now TridentX with low samsung chips :-/

    Problem with Samsung and Hynix based stuff on Pile Driver is that the CPU-NB needs to keep up with the ram speed! My Pile driver seems to have a hard time keeping up with my TridentX rams. I'm running the rams below their rated speeds at 2400 9-11-11-25 now.

    The CPU-NB is on the brink of stabilty with reasonable volts at 2.6GHz where the TridentX's aren't breaking a sweat.

    Who would have ever thought ram would make the CPU-NB gasp? Not me when i was running my Thuban at 3G+ speeds on the CPU-NB along with Hypers that ran out a little over DDR1840.

    Anybody still running a Thuban? I think it's about time I retire my 4GB G.Skill Flare kit and get an 8GB kit. Anybody know a good kit that can run DDR3-2000 24/7 stable with a Thuban? The 1090T I have can run 4GHz with 1.45 vcore and 3GHz NB with 1.35 CPU-NB voltage if that helps.
