    Overclocking Core i7 920 - P6TD Deluxe - Help

    Guys, I've just put together a new rig and I'm trying to get it tuned up.

    I've read that 4ghz should be pretty do-able for a 920 with the right system, but I'm really struggling to get the system stable. It that right?

    So heres what I've done so far:

    Turned off all energy saving, throttling, virtual tech (left HT and hardware prefetch on)

    Bclk @200 Multi @ 20x
    CPU=1.35v QPI=1.35v Mem=1.64v
    Dram is set low 1200mhz for now as anything above that causes the system to be unstable, even though my mem can do 2000mhz... I believe the cpu mem controller is the problem there?

    I have got the system so it will run Prime or OCCT stable @ 4ghz, but when I run 3DMark halfway through the second test, the whole system powers off (everything goes off for a few seconds) then the power comes back and the system starts to boot. I've tried different voltages but it persists, it also did it @ 3.8ghz so I get the feeling it may be the mem controller?

    I've been out the game for a while and its my first Core i7, so its possible I'm doing something wrong. Can anybody recommend me some base settings to start off on this MB?

    I'm worried that my temps are a bit hot as under load @ 4ghz -1.35v they are in the mid 80 degrees range. But I read that 4ghz is do-able on air so thought the little Corsair would be enough. Not sure now though?

    Can anyone offer any pointers on settings for the P6TD Deluxe? Specs are in sig by the way.

    Thank you.

    Maybe it's your powersupply is my guess. I know 850watts is a lot, but you do pack a lot of hard drives and the gamexstream series wasn't the best.

    Hi Guys My friend just got a P6TD Dlx with his new core i7 which we are planning to overclock... He is got a waterblock and is using a 40 x 40 fan mounted on his NB as you have the option to do that now the reason he is got this mobo is cos he wants to OC so he choose this board cos we thought that it would be cool on the mobo but he is getting like 45 c on the MB temp and 50c on the Cpu according to prove 2, speed fan and bios so I think is too hot?? what do you guys think? not overclocking yet till I know the temps are safe...
